It makes sense but I don't believe that to be the case. She would have simply said LE asked her not to discuss.

Mom says she just prays to God for this to get closed. (Big pause/breath noted.)
She also says somebody's got to pay for dumping a 7 yr old in the trash.
What I would would have expected her to say is that she prays to god for the killer to be found immediately.
Also curious is her "grief" was more evident before the police found the body. While I do believe she has some genuine grief, her initial grief was more consistent with just having learned her daughter was dead. She wasn't out looking aggressively, there was immediately resignation on her part.
Diena's "we're coming to get you" speech - as if directed at the perp: Anyone else get a scolding tone from that? As if speaking to a young person, rather than a psychopath?
Maybe that's just me, it's always struck me as very direct, purposeful, simple diction - as if she was not speaking to an adult at that moment. When she thanks the community - diction is different.
