Have there been other robberies in whatever area the robberies took place? If it was Somer's neighborhood, could she have stumbled across their hiding place? Could they have given her something (a trinket) and then when she went missing they needed to get it back?

(Still holding out hope that these relatives (if they are relatives) had nothing to do with her murder.)

So, it could be a vendetta or retaliatory murder? I guess we will have a clearer picture when the autopsy results are released. If that is the case, then the perp. probably knew that the first assumption would be that a sex offender was responsible.

Alright - it looks like Bruners and Pattersons are all familiar with one another ...(snipped)...
If you google Moms name - her facebook comes up - which then brings you to her sisters facebook - then check her friends lists. You will see what I am saying.

Thanks, NSC - I was able to pull up their friends on FB. Interesting that there are Bruners and Pattersons listed, and also the same last names as those arrested. Bruner is a less common name than Patterson, but it's still not like Smith or Jones. I just wonder what the chances are of this being merely a coincidence or if there's more to it.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Somer Thompson was a friendly, fun-loving girl who couldn't pass a school crossing guard or puppy without without giving a hug.

That was the portrait Pastor David Tarkington painted of Somer Thompson for about 800 people who attended the memorial service Tuesday morning for the first-grader who disappeared just over a week ago while walking home from school.

The photos available of the balloon release from HLN... I can't find them :( anyone have a link?

Oh yes, and to expound on my last point - I see Bond set in way WORSE crimes than armed robbery. Why NO BOND for these people???

Just so coincidental about the robbery issue and the date of Somer being found. Add to that, they are "somehow" related to the family. FB has some clues. But I'm too confused to follow anything from them. But like a couple of you have pointed out...there seems to be a relationship with DT's sister, niece, etc. (and SP shows up on some of the family friends lists). But it COULD be these 4 were already on police radar, showed up at the house, were recognized, then picked up on the same day. Just some much to try to make sense of :(

you guys know I am hung up on this BIG STICK man, I just googled D_ _ _ _ _ T _ _ _ _ _ (name the news gives him this time)....WOW, he seems to like the media.....google : DT/Orange Park, Florida.....fwiw

I got 50 entries ... with "DT" and "orange park, fl" but even those are not all of him since one is for an 84 yo man (obit).

Most seem to be from the funeral? (Somer's)

Am I missing something more. I am Google challenged.

Dang - now you've got me stuck on them! Here's a possible scenario (there are sooo many possible scenarios in this case!):

Perhaps they attempted to rob the home the afternoon that Somer went missing. Maybe needed to get something else - not just an ordinary robbery (drugs? money? papers? who knows - this is all speculation). Got to the home - oops, SP is there. As they leave, they see poor little Somer. She may be familiar with them (*IF* they are indeed in the circle of family/friends) and willingly goes with them (or not willingly, but goes nonetheless :() . So some type of harm befalls little Somer. But, they still don't have what they need from the home so they have to go back.

Maybe SP even recalls seeing them in the area and tells DT later when Somer is missing. Maybe DT knew they were after something and asked SP to wait at home for the kids.

These are just a few off the google articles. I took out his name as I dind't want it to come up on a google search.

"I would say we don't know (Somer's mom) personally, but our heart knows her as a parent, and that's what tears our hearts out," ********said. "I was in tears on Friday just watching her cry, and then finding that baby in the trash just tears my heart out."

"I saw the mother, and as a parent myself, I know how much this ripped my heart right out of me, so I can't imagine what she's going through," ***** said.

********, 49, brought his wife and 20-year-old daughter. None of them knew Somer or her mother.

"We are all in tears over it," *** said

Not that odd if he's a close friend and paying tribute. FYI, my own FB is private, and so are the FB pages of most of my friends.

I'm working on a theory, and I will try to have it hammered out enough to be postable later.
It would be wonderful if we could have a forum for Somer. But new forums are a lot of work, so I understand if we don't get one. I have to go school shopping for my oldest son, as he outgrew everything, but when I get back, I'll try to organize my thoughts well enough for them to make sense to anyone but me.

At the request of investigators, the casket was closed at a viewing Monday evening at First Baptist Church of Orange Park.

Memorial held for Somer

The bold is mine. I didn't realize that investigators had requested this. I would think the funeral home would suggest it or the family would request it ... but investigators?

There is something they don't want us to see?
