Not that I have seen. I wondered if the star could have been a Star of David, and/or the horn representative of a Shofar... leading to some Jewish ancestry??

jmo
The Horn is absolutely no shofar or even close. It looks like some animal tooth, maybe fossil?

I thought it was the Italian Horn?

One new exclusion, Robert Kuhlman.

I agree... it didn't look like a shofar but I thought it might be "representative"... particularly if the star was a Star of David. Maybe it's just a shark's tooth pendant and neither object represents anything. jmo

I think the horn is probably an animal tooth probably a shark. It doesn't look like a Jewish shofar horn to me.

The decedent was possibly from California, Missouri, or Tennessee and possibly went by the name of John, Johnny, Robert, or Ronald."

I had a hunch that he may be escaped Tennessee inmate Ronald Welch. Ronald escaped from a Tennessee Prison in June of 1975, and he matches the height and physical description. The Tennessee Department of Corrections did not list Ronald's hair or eye colour. However he does match up in height and upon looking at the available photo, Ronald is close enough in visually that I sent this tip along.

the Doe Network has replied confirming that they have sent this information to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations.

I can't find any records for Ronald. I wonder if he used an alias.

I have no clue. I received a reply from Mary Bell from the Doe Network stating that on the Tennessee DOC website where you can look up inmates, Ronald was listed as an inmate who absconded. But I couldn't find much else either.

I could be wrong, but I do think a few unidentified folks might be fugitives on the run. There are quite a few listed for each state that have never been found. Ronald being one of them.

I wondered if his jail time and his time in tenessee is how he met Jack?

The only thing stumping me is that I don't think Ronald is Jewish...

There is no indication our UID was Jewish

My apologies I thought there was a necklace.
A necklace with a shark tooth or Italian horn and one with some unspecified white star - can be anything.

Does anyone have a photo of Jack Davis?
Hi. My name is Jeff Davis. Jack Roy Davis was my Uncle. He was my Dads oldest brother. I have been doing a bunch of family tree work going back to 2012 and that bought me here today.

He died when I was only 8. I have never met my uncle. He has always been a big mystery. I never really heard much about my Uncle Jack growing up, although I vaguely remember when his murder happened in 1980. These are the only photos I have of my Uncle Jack, barring one of him as a child in the 1950’s.

thanks for posting the photos. some time ago i read that jack was married... maybe he and his wife were estranged at the time of his murder... but i wondered if she had met the unidentified man before. do you think anyone in your family thought he looked familiar.

I wonder if prints have been resubmitted recently on the John Doe?

"Tippit" is referenced in the thread, assuming Robert Ronald Tippit Tippit Namus Profile , did anything come of this? Given his name and circumstances, I agree it would be prudent to review. He is not listed in exclusions.

Did anyone ever see anything post-1982 on "David Ann Thomas"? I did not.
