Found Deceased FL - Stephanie Chitwood Hollingsworth, 50, Belle Isle, 25 Sept 2020

  • #161
The first post/link to this thread is dated Sept 29 where on this date, police were already exhausted by the lack of leads.

If not for police using the term "endangered adult," I would have also been concerned about the husband starting off the missing person campaign by citing his wife had psychological problems.

Since this initial MSM report, there was a sighting of SH in Walmart where she reportedly purchased alcohol but the bank remains the last reported sighting of the 2000 Chevy Tahoe.

My questions are now about what happened on Friday that could have upset SH -- causing her to want to drink?

Did she have a spat with her husband? Is her husband using her actual health problem to distance himself from her disappearance? After more than two weeks, I think we need to officially clear the husband just to be sure. MOO

Cash reward for info on Belle Isle mother of 3 reported missing

Sept 29, 2020

BELLE ISLE, Fla. – A 50-year-old Belle Isle woman was reported missing by her family earlier this week and police are seeking the public’s help in locating the endangered adult.

[..]

Police said they are running out of leads when it comes to Stephanie’s case.

“What’s odd about this case is that there’s only been one sighting or one transaction at the Bank of America Friday. Outside of that, we’ve taken just about every avenue that we can to locate her or the vehicle," said Sergeant Detective Jeremy Millis. "There has been absolutely no sightings of the vehicle since the Bank of America transaction.”

ETA: Correcting my post. It's actually investigators that cited SH with psychological problems and not the husband. Other than labeling SM an "endangered adult" in media dated Sept 29, it seems this condition was first reported in media on Oct 1.

Investigators said Hollingsworth suffers from psychological conditions and requires care.

No meaningful leads in case of missing Belle Isle mother of 3, police say

I’m thinking it’s a lot of information- why?
I believe when someone is missing, the more information you have, the search area narrows...
I am thinking she can be in her car off the road, Perhaps in the woods or underwater...
I looked up he local map and there are so many bodies of water...
Hopefully they have several drones with remote viewing capabilities...
Prayers to all of her family, friends, community, and volunteers...

Yes, you are right that they did say in the media that she bought a small bottle of vodka and a soda and they have video footage of her in a liquor store but did anyone actually see her drink the vodka?

I might be spotted at 2pm buying 2 bottles of wine and a case of beer...on the reg. That doesn't mean I have an alcohol problem. Who else has verified that SH has a long standing alcohol problem? Her brother or kids or friends?
Yes, yes and yes. Thank you

Oh my, I am getting a feeling of deja vu. I'm a little concerned that the persona presented to the public: a caring, wonderful mother, wife and friend, with a history of mental health issues and oh, yes, a history of alcohol abuse is coming from one person. There's no family or friends concurring regarding her struggles with alcohol and her continual fight to overcome her demons.

Little things bother me, like, how does her husband know she had a quarter tank of gas, how did he know what purse she's got or even how much money she had in her purse. My husband has no idea how much gas I have in my car because he doesn't monitor it, or how much money I have in my purse or even what purse I'm using. And I'll hazard a guess that most of my female friends would agree with me that their own spouses wouldn't have a clue about that, either.

Sometimes, too much information raises as many red flags as too little. One thing her husband doesn't mention is whether his wife takes any kinds of medications for her ongoing mental health issues. Together, psychotropic drugs and alcohol can be a deadly mix.

So many entwining issues, mental health issues, a drinking problem, a new job, a stay at home mom for 15 years after her last son was born suddenly going back to work, a renewed interest in religion. Can all this be verified by other family members or her friends? Has SC had blowback regarding her decision to venture back into the workforce? It's not as if her children need her at home; her youngest is in high school.

She may have driven east bound to the coast. She could be submerged in a retention pond somewhere. She could be in a locked vehicle somewhere, a victim of heat stroke due to a combination of drugs and alcohol. I don't feel good about the outcome, whether through self harm or misadventure.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me commenting on this thread :) IMO Stephanie seemed to be enjoying her life and wanting to make a new start, I am really not getting that she has run away and killed herself drinking. Can someone clarify if her recent FB pics are of her husband - if they are she looks a hell of a lot younger than him! Also why was he posting on her FB - did he have her password? Was he controlling? Something not sitting right here, you can have a drink problem and hide it very well, I am just not seeing that from her - to me she looks like someone about to start a new life or perhaps having an affair JMO Hope she is found safe

This is concerning to me - a little too much information and I really want to know what other video after Walmart has been found

I'm kind of confused by SH's FB page. There is a comment there that is suggesting that the boys are gone too. Also not sure if she had a girl who is deceased now ten years.

I think you may be looking at the wrong FB page. Her husband seems to be her age.

Another interesting tidbit from that article :

That is true also in cases of self-harm (which is the general feel of this case at this point).

Is there an Alcoholics Anonymous in th US? We have in the UK and its a 12 step programme which is based on God? This could be why she has recently became religious?? I also don't know how much you guys had a lockdown but mental health in the UK is now a bigger issue than even before. Perhaps she was attending meetings but could no longer because of Covid and she had a relapse? I still think she was getting on the straight and narrow from her recent FB posts but JMO
