Found Deceased FL - Stephanie Chitwood Hollingsworth, 50, Belle Isle, 25 Sept 2020

There's no way she is in a treatment facility anywhere. In my opinion, she left her phone at home because she didn't want to get contacted by anyone and/or have her location tracked. What are the chances of her actually having way more gas than her husband thinks she had in her car? And what's the chance that she had a stash of money saved up, without her husband knowing?

Could be, but someone ready to go to a treatment facility is probably at in a really dark place, emotionally. That seems inconsistent with an organized plan to hide/save money & craft an exit.

Search for missing Belle Isle woman presses on 3 weeks after disappearance

Oct 16, 2020

On the day she disappeared, Scott Hollingsworth said he initially assumed his wife was out running errands, but grew worried when she didn’t return home that night. She took her purse and wallet but left her cell phone at home, which wasn’t uncommon.

“She kind of worked at 100 miles an hour,” he said. “Run and go, that’s how she was. She was very high-energy.”

He later found a backpack full of belongings that she had packed, which led him to believe she had checked herself into a mental health facility.

“She was a fighter. She was prepared to heal herself,” he said.

He also thought she might have been at the yoga studio that day. Weeks later, he now believes his wife of almost 25 years headed east on Narcoossee Road toward Lake Nona, based on reported sightings.

Satellite company joins search
Hundreds of friends, relatives and strangers have volunteered to help with search parties in the Central Florida area, dividing up sections on aerial maps, Scott Hollingsworth said. Friend and attorney Dan Newlin donated the use of his helicopter, as well.

[..]

The resources behind Hollingsworth’s search extended to new heights after family and friends at a Tuesday press conference called on companies such as SpaceX, L3 Harris Technologies and Microsoft to help in their search for Hollingsworth.

Bill Moore, a real estate agent and former police detective of more than a decade, pleaded for the geospace and technology giants to look for stored satellite images of Hollingsworth’s car at the Walmart and nearby Bank of America, where $20 was withdrawn from her bank account at the ATM minutes before she entered the store.

[..]

BIPD Detective Jeremy Millis told the Orlando Sentinel that police are receiving 15 to 20 Crimeline tips about the case daily. He encourages anyone with resources to continue reaching out, especially those with buggies and four-wheel-drive vehicles that can go places an aerial view might miss.

“Just get in there and try and find every nook and cranny, especially locals, because a lot of locals know where the hideout areas are,” Millis said.

If I was a heavy drinker in Florida and needed to get away from it all during Covid-19, I would head straight to the Keys. But we're led to believe there's no way she could have done that. After all, she needed an ATM just to get money for some liquor. And she's not using her accounts. If I read that she had filled up the tank, I'd feel better. Then I'd think she had needed to get away.

I just hope they check the storage facilities off of Narcoosee Road. Sigh.

Cash reward for info on Belle Isle mother of 3 reported missing
Published: September 29, 2020, 1:57 pmUpdated: September 30, 2020, 9:38 pm

Crimeline is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information on Hollingsworth’s whereabouts. Her husband is pleading for the public to help find her. “Stephanie... we are looking for you, your family loves you more than ever. We don’t know what’s going on but we’re going to find you.... just know that," said Scott Hollingsworth.

Snip

Scott says the mother of three boys would never leave her children.

“At this point, we have to suspect the worst... I’m asking for everybody’s help to do everything they can to find her," said Scott. “Understand that this woman... Stephanie, my wife of 25 years is in trouble and we need to get her back to her family, her children.”

Sometimes you do forget your phone, but if left willingly, you don't want to be tracked. Would like to see more background on family everyday activity.

Thanks for the updated news link. It's the first time I've read SH had plans to seek treatment for alcoholism. I think she accidentally ended up in the water and hope she's recovered soon.
Agreed. Her car should have popped up on a license plate reader by now, or she should have been spotted somewhere.

I don’t foresee a happy ending here.

Sure sounds like a lot of good people are searching very hard for her. I pray they find her soon. I wonder if she was ever manic. Not sure if bi-polar. But with her extremely high energy..ever went into manic stages from drinking and did something here totally out of character -- either intentionally harming herself or driving erratically and accidentally going into water. Maybe she said she wanted treatment, but when it came down to it and her bag was packed, she didn't truly want it and wanted to do her own thing. Taking only $20 out of an ATM could be tracked -- so that would lead people to think she needed it just for a short errand. Maybe she had a lot of other cash and used that to fill up for gas and drove far away. Took a boat somewhere. But as someone said, her license plate probably would have popped up somewhere. Still leaning towards her and her car hidden somewhere.

What if that bag her husband found wasn't for her to go to rehab, at all? What if she had other plans?

The article says it was not uncommon for her to leave her phone at home. I know I do it quite often by accident. Rushing from being behind or just being scatter brained. Quite possibly I think the phone had nothing to do with it and that an accident occurred and unfortunately her phone wasn’t with her when she went to run her errand.

I don’t find buying a small bottle that odd but for my own reasons. My father had been an alcoholic for as long as I can remember and for years I didn’t know how he would get so wasted. Turns out he would buy small bottles of liquor and drink them secretly so we only saw him drinking the beer. Also, by the time he went to buy liquor he was already pretty intoxicated. He usually always had a bottle of something hidden and would go to the store after he drank that and wanted more but also needed something for the next morning.

That is just my personal experience and probably isn’t true in all cases.

I don’t see a good outcome unfortunately but I will hold out hope because you just never know.

Very good points.

I don't see a good outcome either but still hold out hope because you really never do know.

I wonder if she had an addiction besides alcohol. Needed the $20 in cash to buy a drug. She mixed it with the small bottle of alcohol.
I just sure hope they at least get a good lead on where her car is this week and that should help find where she is.

Have any that are local seen what the "highlighted" areas on the map are?
We highlighted certain areas on maps, put flyers in the packets and tape and are sending people out, so they know exactly what area to cover and we meet as much ground as possible,” said friend Jodi Hopper, who organized the flyer handout at Bell Tower. BBM

Perhaps she had more cash on her than originally realized...
She was very petite so perhaps easy to abduct, if drinking in a park or parking lot...
Was there a possibility she was having an affair and left with someone that did have money available?

It doesn't really have to be an affair, it could be a friend, male or female. Someone who she could go to and would have her back.

I wonder that aswell - she seemed to have boundless energy in life which IMO alcohol gives a certain amount but it would be noticeable to others (ie smell of your breath etc) Pondering if she was on some kind of uppers?

Many people drink Vodka to mask the alcohol smell... Mixed into a soda can she could drive without appearing to be drinking...

Random pondering thoughts: Looking at the map between Monet Ave and Walmart on Goldenrod (correct me if I'm wrong on locations) it is a 10 to 13 minute drive to use the ATM and Walmarts purchase of alcohol. If you zoom in on the map near Monet there is a Conway liquor store and a Publix super market right around the corner where she could have completed both tasks without driving to Walmart. If she were planning self harm would she have still cared if anyone saw her purchase liquor or was she still simply to embarrassed? I also wonder about where she worked? Many yoga, gym, dance etc places have full windows in the front in hopes it will draw customers. Could someone have been watching her? At this point it's just crazy, stab in the dark thoughts. Just sharing them.
