The NameUs page is still up, was the identity not confirmed?

It can take a while for investigators to tie up all the loose ends. There's cases resolved years ago which still have active NamUs profiles. It will probably come down sooner than later though.

Also, NamUs was affected by the government shutdown, and there's possibly still a backlog.

She was killed by her estranged husband. This is eerie similar to the Lady in the Dunes case. How did nobody from her family report her missing. What did they think she did all these years? Cases like this are hard to solve if Family members or anyone else doesn't report them missing.

I highly recommend listening to the interview with her daughter in post #699 on the previous page, it explains a lot about the family dynamics and how this could have happened. A sad situation all round.

The Florida Sheriffs Association published an episode about Maureen's case on their podcast Cold Case Florida. Sumter County Sheriff Pat Breeden, Captain Jon Galvin, and Latent Print Examiner Candice Sieg were interviewed about her identification.

According to Captain Galvin, her estranged husband told one of their children "There's something about your mother that I want to tell you one day, before I die." He died without revealing it.

Thanks greatly for the recommend to listen to #699.... how hard for Maureen's daughter... the resentment she had growing up. I admire her so much.
How brave of her to put herself through forensic hypnosis...
