On March 19, deputies responded to a report from the mother, Tania Rodriguez, 31, about her missing endangered child, who had disappeared from their home. The mother was unable to provide officials with a precise timeline but indicated that she hadn’t seen him.
Deputies found the boy at his school the next day. During an interview, the child told officials that he’d been away from home for three days.
According to the sheriff’s office, the home did not have electricity and running water. The dwelling of the home was in a “deplorable state,” infested with flies and cockroaches, and the floors were “contaminated with fecal matter.”
Four children lived at the home under Rodriguez’s care; however, the sheriff’s office said all the children have since been removed and placed with family.
