Hi guys, getting in late...could somebody please be so kind as to bring forward in a brief summary the facts at hand? Thank you. I have followed Taylor's case from a distance, mostly lurking, finding myself confused...

Eta: nevermind, got it reading...was overwhelmed.

Eta: actually I take that back...was she on yall's radar?
If Taylor did not leave on her own the most likely person if foul play was involved was the last person Taylor was known to be with and that would have been Ashley McArthur or others connected to her. The main problem is because of TOS it was not possible to discuss much of anything about her.

Hi guys, getting in late...could somebody please be so kind as to bring forward in a brief summary of the facts at hand? Thank you.

Here's what we know:

Taylor had about $100,000 cash and cashiers checks from her divorce.
Her accounts had been frozen before during the divorce.
The divorce, while granted, was still an ongoing battle in the courts for division of funds, division of HHG, child custody, etc.
Taylor took the money out of her account back in June when it was unfrozen.
Taylor asked her friend to keep a large portion of it (Possibly all? We don't know for sure how much) in a safe deposit box at the bank.
We believe (though not confirmed by MSM yet) that this friend was Ashley Mcarthur.
Taylor's body was found around noon on Oct 19th.
Ashley Mcarthur was arrested Oct 19th and charged with first degree premeditated homicide.
AM had a previous arrest in August for Larceny.

See the timeline on page 1 if you have not read anything but prepare to be confused-- most info will probably change as we learn more. The timeline is what we know as told by Fleurde and AbuDrake. There are probably many things in the timeline that we can now say AM texted/called Fleurde and said ____, etc. but I'm trying to hold off editing it until LE releases more info. I think there may have been more than one person texting or calling fleurde with the "updates" of Taylor's whereabouts on Sept 8th. I think Taylor did not do most of those activities described (going to the bank, horseback riding, getting into an Uber, etc). JMO.

Yes and no to that last question. Many of us said the friend's story did not add up but we couldn't really say much else (due to TOS). Also, she was never named in MSM. TOS prevented us from sleuthing her here. Bravo to those who figured out who she was before she was named (and never spilled the beans here as far as I saw). I know a few of you figured it out a long time ago (I did not know her name until tonight).

Omg. I don't know what to say. I feel sick. I truly wanted to believe this wouldn't end this way.

Fleurde and AbuDrake, I'm so so unbelievably sorry for your loss.

Is this her linked in?

https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashley-britt-13aa1980

She looks young here...and only using the name Ashley Britt-- maybe an old account?

That is her LI acct. It shows she was a Crime Scene investigator for Escambia Co for less than one year in 2006

I asked if anyone had actually seen the money. No one was able to definitely state that they had, according to our VIs.

I am local, and I don't see anything similar to the Billings murders.

I lived in Gulf Breeze from 96-03 and visit the area often.

I wasn't referring to the specifics of the actual home invasion, murders and robbery.

In hindsight I should have said there are certain 'nouns' instead of just "things", as in people, places and/or things that triggered me remembering the Billings case.

What type of prove does LEO have and need to know to determine a premeditated act?

What type of prove does LEO have and need to know to determine a premeditated act?

For starters, is it possible that LE determined that ABM never actually put the funds in the safety deposit box ? That they knew she stole it? Do we know if Taylor was even present when the money was supposedly deposited?

I notice that Ashley's maiden name is Britt. Taylor's body was found off Britt Road. Is that road named for her family?

  • #652
(Just noting many of you were correct with your instincts...I thought it was troublesome she would leave her son, but there were other things that had me suspect a possible volunteer disappearance...)

I'm so shocked by this, I can't even think straight right now. I knew this was a possibility, but how does someone do this to someone they call a friend???

My sweet friend, Jamie, was also murdered over stolen (embezzled, in her case) money by her husbands best friend and the best man in their wedding. It, too, was premeditated. Even after that, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that these heinous acts are a reality in our world.

I can't help but wonder if that "something's not right" comment had more to do with the money than the divorce proceedings. Maybe she sensed something was up with Ashley, or she had tried to get the money BEFORE the court date she had pushed back but Ashley made an excuse as to why they couldn't.

I'm sorry I've been the jerk promoting the theory that Taylor went missing voluntarily. The more I learned, the more suspicious I became of the friend, but I wanted to believe Taylor was okay. I'm Taylor's age and a mother, as well, and the thought of her life ending so prematurely right when things finally seemed to be going in the right direction for her, makes me sick. The thought of her sweet son having to grow up without his mom makes me sick. This whole thing makes me absolutely sick.

Just seen the news on fb.

Unfortunately this was the very obvious answer from early on.

AbuDrake and Fleurde- I cant seem to think to the right words to say to either of you. Everything I've typed seems inadequate. I'm just so deeply sorry. I hope and pray that in time and with justice, you will be able find some peace.

And sending lots of strength your way, Abu, as you face having to break this devastating news to Drake.

I knew the horse story was bogus. Terrible, horrific outcome, especially from a female friend. But $100, 000 is an enormous amount of money to most people, especially to a woman who needs it and probably got even deeper into debt from the unsucessful MLMs.

I'm surprised that Taylor was so trusting after having been in law enforcement and engaging in P.I. work for so long--and good at it. She must had investigated many cases of "nice, normal" people doing very bad things., especially for large amounts of money. Did she not know anything about this woman's criminal background? They were so close, so it seems as if she would have known. Why didn't this give her pause? And if they weren't close, why trust her?

Most of all, I wonder why Taylor didn't leave the money in the bank when it was unfrozen since it wasn't fully hers and would probably be divided up or given to her ex by the court? If she hadn't been so desperate to hide the money, she wouldn't have needed to get tangled up with this dangerous woman. Sad and perplexing.

Wasn't it just $30,000 in cash? The rest was cashiers checks right?

I would suggest that for those interested in where Taylor was likely found that they look into the Escambia County Property Appraiser web site.

http://www.escpa.org/cama/Search.aspx

On that page you have to choose the Radio button for Location Address and in the entry field above put "britt rd" and hit the search button. A list of all the property owners with a Britt RD address will appear. One name will stand out since Ashley's maiden name is Britt. That person has not been mentioned so I will leave it to you to sleuth that offline.

What you need to fill out to do the search should look like this:

attachment.php

After the results list comes up choose View Map next to the obvious name. When the map comes up click on Layers to the far right and then click the checkbox for Aerial images so you can see what the property looks like.

I admit I originally thought she left on her own. But as time past, the safe deposit chick kept coming back in my mind. There wasn’t much known and that was the piece of the puzzle.

With all do respect, we tried. We got heated. We dug into everything. We needed too. We asked hard questions and spoke opinions. We needed to do that even if it felt yucky.

I’m so sorry AbuDrake, Drake, and Fleurde! May she Rest In Peace.
