Girlfriend of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player still missing after 26 years.

Tina Mae Jones was last seen in early January of 2000 in Winter Park, Florida. At the time of her disappearance, she was romantically involved with a well known NFL football player on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Just prior to her disappearance, Tina stopped by her mother's Orlando residence. She was badly beaten by her boyfriend to the extent of sustaining a ruptured breast implant. She refused to seek medical attention or call the police. During that visit, her boyfriend called the home. Although it was unknown what what was said, Tina left her mother's residence in a hurry, stating she was heading to Tampa. She alluded to the fact that she “might not be returning”. She left behind her modeling portfolio, passport, and driver's license. That was the last time Tina Jones was ever seen alive. Tina’s brother later received a phone call from her boyfriend stating that Tina owed him money. Her red 1986 Chrysler Laser with Florida tag # UDG50H has never been recovered. Foul play is suspected in Tina‘s case. No suspects have been named in her disappearance.

Tina sometimes went by the name Christina. She worked as a model, office administration and sometimes as a personal trainer. She was 28 years old at the time of her disappearance and lived in Casselberry, Florida. This case is one of many that we have been actively working over the past 2 years. Throughout our ongoing search for Tina and her red Chrysler, we have located over a dozen other submerged vehicles between Orlando and Tampa. These vehicles were all linked to theft and or insurance fraud. None of these vehicles have been linked to Tina. The recovery of these vehicles was facilitated by the collaborative efforts of the Orange County Sheriffs Dive Team, Tampa PD Dive Team, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Dive Team.

I find it interesting that there’s no info on who her boyfriend was though I’m sure it could be figured out. I’m not sure if by “former” player they mean he is NOW a former player or he was already former player at the time of dating Tina. If he was on the team while dating Tina, Tampa Bay played in Chicago on 1/2, the day after she was last seen.
