the suapect who had taken a plea has now retracted his plea, there may be one other 14 year old defendant who is looking to plead, otherwise it seems it will go to trial and both victims will have to testify, which will be horryfying, plus both victims have not been able to make many IDs of the perpatrators due to the horror of the crimes and many were wearing masks

I do remember that case. It's haunted me. You're right the details in the link are even more horrific than I remember. Life in prison just doesn't seem to be enough for these monsters. The mother and son have been sentenced for life too. I hope and pray that they are getting the physical and emotional help they need, and that one day they'll be able to have a mother/son relationship (as close to "normal" as possible) and happy life.

I think of these two often and pray for them. I remember how the community rejected them after it happened-please God they have been relocated to somewhere safe.

As far as I can tell, they are short 6 participants in this horror. I would be looking around the apartment building for the additional perps...but I am sure LE has already figured that out.

I'm with you on that thought. The mother/son have a life sentence. They will never be the same no matter how much therapy they get. What exactly is in the water in Florida anyway??

30 years is not enough!!

I get what you guys are saying, but for me this kid was 14 when he participated in this nauseating crime. Statistics are not in his favor of surviving prison given what he did as well as the fact that he snitched on the others who were sentenced. And he held nothing back-he dumped it all.

Yes, he deserves life, but I think he will get that....jmo. I am hoping he gave up the rest who are still running free, and that LE is just working extra hard to tighten the noose before they charge them as well.
