...One woman told Ocoee investigators that in 2008, Hataway tried to choke her while they were inside her car and then chased her and slammed her head on the ground when she ran from him.

On Wednesday, another woman told the Orlando Sentinel she knew Hataway casually from the Seminole County bar scene, where she would often see him pick fights and get kicked out. One night about a year ago, she said, Hataway asked her for a ride home. Once inside the woman's car, he pulled down his pants and tried to force her to perform oral sex. She refused and went back inside the bar but did not call police at the time...

...Meanwhile, the woman who mothered Hataway's only child thinks he is not connected to Ocasio's disappearance.(so he has a child?)

"This comes as such a surprise," Amanda Case said of Hataway's connection to the Ocoee case. "He would never do anything like that." (they all say this)

Fox35 News Van on Lyle street right now where Hataway and his father live.

One of the news articles or videos I watched online covered the issue of why her complaint wasn't followed thru last year. The blame game I think.
Anyway, they said they sent her a letter requesting some information or something to that nature and she didn't respond.
But, they ARE looking in to it now and will be questioning the 'neighbors' she said came to her rescue that night. They need to do whatever is necessary to keep this guy in jail.

I'll go back through the news sites and try to find the video report.

I'm disappointed with local coverage of Tracy...

I have a feeling we may find something out about Jennifer Kesse as well. Another sleuther brought it to my attention that the locations are very close to areas involved with JK's case.

He said he was hanging out with his Dad that night. I wonder if his Dad has had any runins with the law and if so for what?

Kat-go back a bit in the thread...Daddy-O has his own history with the law too. Looks like the apple might not fall far from the tree.

LE is questioning a Tyler Watters regarding the missing person Onda George aka Chris George. TW is one of the people who was w/Hataway one night this past Feb '09 when police came upon Hataway walking from the woods?-he told police he was looking for his friend. The white suv owned by the missing person was on the roadside and had crashed into some barbedwire.

snippet:
According to a police report, George’s car looked as if it had crashed through a barbed wire fence. When questioned, Hataway said he went into the woods to look for his friend. He said he had no knowledge of where George might be.

But after more questioning, detectives said his story started to change. Investigators were suspicious back then, and certainly now, but they are not ready to call him a person of interest in Onda George case.

suspects Mom speaks out!

Donna Hataway is James' mother. She told Eyewitness News Wednesday that she's lost touch with her son over the years. Donna says she spent a lot of time with him in juvenile court, but hoped that he would turn his life around.

Donna said James was soft spoken. Donna, who is hearing impaired, says she heard about her son James' most recent trouble on the news.

This guy is starting to hit several markers for APD.

Or at least a conduct disorder during teens.

I did a criminal record search on Hataway's ex (the one who fathered his child).
In november of 07 she ran a red light and was drinking and driving. Then
in april of 08 had 2 domestic violence charges against her. She was given a no contact order and required to move out of where she was. Then january of this year got arrested for DUI (causing bodily harm or injury) and resisting arrest. Her trial date is this month...

Meanwhile, the woman who mothered Hataway's only child thinks he is not connected to Ocasio's disappearance.

"This comes as such a surprise," Amanda Case said of Hataway's connection to the Ocoee case. "He would never do anything like that."

Case and Hataway have a 5-year-old daughter and lived together for several years.

Despite what others say and Hataway's criminal history, Case said that's not the man she knew. She said he never did drugs around her and was trustworthy. He liked to write poetry, barbecue and be outdoors.

Their differences — and similar strong personalities — drove them apart, Case said. Recently Hataway had become more involved in their daughter's life and visited her several times a week.

It's been more than a week since anyone saw Tracy Ocasio alive.

While friends and family are holding out hope that the 27-year-old jewelry maker will be found soon, detectives have uncovered no trace of her.

Ocasio went missing early May 27 after leaving a MetroWest bar following an Orlando Magic Playoff game with a man she'd known for less than two weeks. Ocasio gave James Hataway, 28, a ride to his Ocoee home and hasn't been seen since.

Newly released reports show that Ocasio's phone made a call at 4:30 a.m., hours after she allegedly dropped Hataway off at his home. Friends say that police have made contact with the person who Ocasio's phone called, however detectives have not released that person's name.

Curious as to who was called @ 4:30am . Wonder where it was pinging?

LE had to know about this call when they reported the 8:30am ping a few hours later. Wonder why they held off reporting this?

We don't know if HE used her phone to dial a number (totally stupid on his part) or maybe he went thru her 'history' of calls or contacts and did an auto dial so it looks like she made the call.

OR there's that slim possibility she made the call from ????

Wow then they can get the PING location too of that call.
wow - they HAVE been withholding information - hopefully for a good reason.
WOW WOW WOW.
Ok so i wonder if she talked to the person - it would be ironic if Hataway used her phone to call his Dad for "help" or something. starting to create a timeline.
I drove by the perp's house today (whoa BAD street to be on) and the surrounding area. No cops - no searching that i could see.

Jennifer's father, Drew Kesse will be in Orlando to meet with police Thursday at their headquarters Drew Kesse told Eyewitness News that the meeting had been planned for some time and he's aware of the Hataway story, but says police have not told him there's a possible connection. http://www.wftv.com/news/19657445/detail.html

This is just my opinion only... but I don't think Jennifer is related. Most of these cases, insofar as we know, seem to involve this caveman going off on women he has been drinking with and gets a ride home from. Don't get me wrong... I am all for the perp being caught in Jennifer's case... it is just at this point thinking he was good for Jennifer's case seems like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. (moo....)

I agree nurse, but gosh wouldn't it be ...if it really was....man o' man.

But I don't see how it would be possible really. They have a picture of a POI in Jennifer's case.

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19658498/detail.html

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Jennifer Kesse's parents want to know if the primary suspect in a recent disappearance could be connected to their daughter's disappearance.

Kesse went missing in January of 2006 and her father, Drew Kesse, said she frequented the Tap Room, which is the same bar that Tracy Ocasio was last seen at.

Ocasio was last seen early in the morning on May 27 after spending the evening prior at the bar in Metro West. Hataway said Ocasio drove him home from the bar, but left his house around 2 a.m.

On Thursday, investigators named James Hataway, 28, as the primary suspect in Ocasio's disappearance

I agree it's too far-fetched. One, back when Jennifer went missing he was living up in Seminole county getting DUIs and basiucally just up there alot not in Ocoee. And even though Jennifer worked in the Ocoee office, it's not adjacent to where he would have been. i think it's a weak connection.
Plus the MO isn't the same. And it doesn't explain the mushroom headed (person who dropped off Kesse's car) person of interest in kesse's case.
