Ocoee police will renew their search this morning for a woman who has been missing since May 27.

A tipster told police recently that he saw Tracy Ocasio's car parked on the wrong side of the road sometime after 2 a.m. on the night she went missing. Police said it's the first credible tip they've received about Ocasio's car.

Police, along with Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents, are set to begin searching at 9 this morning. Officers with cadaver dogs and ATVs will scour an area near Binion Road near the Ocoee- Apopka boarder.

Volunteers are not needed.

Ocasio was last seen alive on May 27 when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway. Police interviewed Hataway, 28, who told them she gave him a ride home from the bar and then left. He claims he doesn't know where she is or could have gone.

Police say Hataway is the only person of interest in Ocasio's disappearance.

Ocasio's car, a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt, was found abandoned a few blocks away from Hataway's home on May 27.

Hataway is being held at the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.

Anyone with information about Ocasio or her disappearance is urged by Ocoee police to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477. Tipsters are eligible to receive up to a $5,000 reward and can remain anonymous.

Check back for more information.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement found bones this morning during a new search for an Ocoee woman who has been missing since May 27, the Orlando Sentinel has learned.

The bones will be shipped to a lab to determine whether they are human or animal remains.

The discovery happened during a search prompted by a new tip.

A tipster told police recently that he saw Ocasio's car parked on the wrong side of the road sometime after 2 a.m. on the night she went missing. Police said it's the first credible tip they've received about Ocasio's car.

Police, along with FDLE agents, are set to begin searching at 9 this morning. Officers with cadaver dogs and ATVs will scour an area near Binion Road near the Ocoee- Apopka boarder.

An animal bone was found this morning during a new search for an Ocoee woman who has been missing since May 27, a source told the Orlando Sentinel.

A Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokeswoman said it's too early to speculate on what was discovered while officials were looking for Tracy Ocasio.

Initially, it was not clear if it was a human or animal bone when the discovery was made this morning. Later, a source told the Sentinel it was an animal bone.

Searchers did not act as if they have made a major discovery. They did not tape off the area where the bone was found. The search is continuing.

More than a dozen searchers are still covering and probing the the wooded area near Apopka with long sticks.

Liz Ocasio, Tracy's mother, was hopeful about today's search. She visited the search site today, and she said all she wants is her daughter to come home.

"Hopefully they will find her today. I'm so ready for that," she said this morning. "You're never ready to find your daughter deceased, but I'm really ready for this chapter to be over."

A tipster told police recently that he saw Ocasio's car parked on the wrong side of the road sometime after 2 a.m. on the night she went missing. Police said it's the first credible tip they've received about Ocasio's car.

"This is the best lead we've had so far," Liz Ocasio said. "Hopefully this is where he came. Hopefully this is where whatever happened, happened."

Ocasio said her daughter's disappearance has been hard on her family.

Her son, Joey, turns to his church for support, she said.

"My husband is totally consumed with finding her," she said. "I just take it day by day. We all do."

Thank God for DVR's and replays! I will be recording the replay at 12am EST. Was there anything good anyone wants to share?

Here is the transcript to JVH's show last night:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0908/04/ijvm.01.html

LIZ OCASIO, TRACY`S MOTHER: I`m hoping that they can find her so that we can at least have -- have her back. You know? Even if she`s not still with us, at least we can have her. Hopefully -- hopefully tomorrow the search will turn up something.

We do want to say, though, that because we`ve gotten this tip, even if this doesn`t pan out, anybody who has seen anything, please, you know, come forward and tell us, even if you don`t think it was important. Any little tip could help.

This man waited so long, because he didn`t think it was the right kind of a tip to give. He didn`t think that it would mean anything. But it could mean everything to us.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So Jennifer Kesse`s parents are going to join us tomorrow night on ISSUES to discuss their daughter`s case. Liz, I`m very pleased to say that you are going to be returning, as well.

You`ve been in touch with the Kesse family. How have these two cases overlapped? Because I understand that they wanted to search in the very area which you`re now searching or going to search as a result of this new tip.

OCASIO: Yes. Meeting the Kesses was really nice. We finally got to meet people that Joe has been e-mailing. And a lot of the similarities -- there`s a lot of similarities in the case. And there`s a lot of overlap in the two areas. So we were hoping that one, if not both, of the girls would be found last weekend.

Hopefully, that group can come back and help us search again some of the other areas up towards Racouie (ph) and Acosta (ph), and maybe we`ll get lucky and they will be able to find both girls.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And your daughter was last seen at the Tap Room, which is the very location where Jennifer Kesse`s dad is referring to her being near there. Is that a yes or no?

OCASIO: Yes. It`s just a nice little sports bar where you go. Tracy watched the Magic games there and cheered them on.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Liz, thank you. I will see you tomorrow night.

Haven't anything new other than a reminder of JVH's court date tomorrow back in Orange County for various drug charges. (He was returned to OC after having appeared in Seminole July 28 re '08 assault of Casselberry victim).

In rereading some of the old articles tho I came across this and was again struck by the vastly differing descriptions given by the two women. One is the mother of JVH's child, Case, who swore up and down he's a great dad, incapable of harming a flea. In the case of the other woman (w whom JVH was staying in '01), I guess the charges must have been dropped? She also reported being injured by him.

One woman, who said she dated Hataway in 2001, included a photo of her bruised arm in her request for a restraining order.

According to court documents, Hataway grabbed and pushed the woman, and woke up her daughter and poured marijuana on the child. The woman said he moved out, but left threatening messages the next day....

(He dumps pot all over this child? Geez, nice... cue head swivel, like split personality ) So never anything further re her? Sorry hard to keep them all straight, been awhile and I guess my memory's worse than I thought...

Reward increased

The parents of a missing Ocoee woman want to increase the reward for information to find their daughter.

Joe Ocasio is willing to put up $5,000 of his own money in hopes that the increased reward will bring in new information to find his daughter Tracy Ocasio. The increase would bring the total reward amount to $10,000.

Ocasio, whose 28th birthday is today, was last seen alive on May 27 when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway. He told police she gave him a ride home to Ocoee and then left. Her car was found abandoned a few blocks from his house.

Hataway has not been charged in Ocasio's disappearance, but is being held at the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.

Last week Ocoee police searched a wooded area near Lake Apopka after receiving a tip from a man who drove through the area around the time Ocasio went missing. The tipster said he saw a car similar to Ocasio's parked on the shoulder facing the wrong direction. Police found nothing.

Ocasio Family Wants Reward Upped

OCOEE -- The family of missing woman, Tracy Ocasio, has asked Crimeline double the reward in the case from $5,000 to $10,0000. The family is also asking for more searches for the woman.

The family says they want to meet with Ocoee police to ask about having a group that helped in the search for Jennifer Kesse come out and help with a search for Tracy.

Ocoee police must agree to the search before the group will help in the case.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/08/19/grace.coldcase.ocasio/index.html

When Ocasio didn't come home that night, her mother said she assumed she'd decided to stay at a friend's house. She often stayed with the friend when she was too tired to drive home.

At 6:30 the next morning, Elizabeth Ocasio sent a text message to her daughter: "Where are you?" She did not receive a response, she said, so she called her daughter's cell phone again two hours later. The phone rang a few times and then went to voice mail. She tried calling Ocasio several more times that day, and each time, the call went to voice mail.

So there were more than just the two calls we had heard of.

Police brought bloodhounds to where Ocasio's car was found, but the dogs didn't hit on her scent, leading police to believe she wasn't the one who parked her car there.

FWIW, when I don't want to talk to somene I will let the phone ring b/c I don't want them to know I've hit "IGNORE" therefore offend them. I would never ignore my parents especially. And on top of that if it was a call out o concern for my parents. I can only speak for my phone, but usually a few rings and then voicemail means someone has deliberately INGORED my call. I don't know that its surprising but it further reaffirms (for me) that someone other than TO had the phone and didn't realize it.

BTW...where has all of the coverage been b/c I rarely hear anything an I'm a local.

The ABC station in Orlando ran a ticker at the bottom of the screen within the last twenty minutes about a body found and mentioned something due to a tip.

It could be related or unrelated.

Will update as soon as I hear anything.

Prayers for Tracy!

Just got a news email about a possible body found, in a freezer, thinking its Tracy due to a tip

ORNAGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News and investigators are on the scene where a possible body was found. Police say they started searching after they got a tip. The tip mentioned missing woman Tracy Ocasio.

Police aren't sure they've found a body. They've removed something that appears to have been wrapped in bags and placed in a freezer at a Central Florida location. They're moving the discovery off the site for further examination.

Watch Eyewitness News at 10:00 & 11:00 for more information.

Investigators are looking into a tip that a body was found in an out-of-the-way location in west Orange County.

A tip to Crimeline hinted that the body might be that of Tracy Ocasio, the 27-year-old woman missing since May, authorities said. The remains were said to have been found at a veterinary clinic that is no longer being used.

But an Orange Sheriff's spokesman said investigators don't know yet what they have, if anything.

Check back for updates.

"A veterinary clinic that is no longer being used"? That is pretty weird. It may be a dead animal in the freezer.

I was just watching our local news station and they are reporting that someone called in a tip to the Ocoee police, said it had to do w/ Tracy, and gave the detectives this location.

Just saw a press conference on Fox 35 news. The bones found were not human.
My heart goes out to the Ocasio family.

I wonder if this person remained anonymous. This seems like an awfully strange thing to call in. What is someone doing in an abandoned vets office and on top of it, looking in their freezer? Were they there legally? Maybe cleaning it out to be leased out? Were they there illegally? Perhaps they broke in to steel drugs that may have been left behind. Its just very random. Hopefully someone will expand on this.

My heart goes out to her family. I know how my heart dropped when I first read this so I cannot even begin to imagine what they must have felt.

Hopefully this will be solved soon...
