GUILTY FL - Tricia Todd, 30, Hobe Sound, 27 April 2016 #2

  • #281
From the arrest warrant:

"Steven continued to avoid answering the question but stated the truth would just make him look worse."

Given the current discovery, trurer words were never spoken. I hope they've already informed him the deal is off the table and out the window.

Someone above was mentioning the Laura Ackerman murder, yes, acid was purchased from Home Depot by Hayes, it didn't have the desired effect so they drove her remains to Texas and disposed of her in a bayou. I think the trial archives are available at WRAL, 2 trials (husband and then wife) both well worth watching.

ETA: It's been a while, they may have bought the acid in Texas, the wife disposed of the bottles there and is facing charges for that also.

Tricia Todd death: Authorities find partial remains in container

Partial remains were found late Thursday night at the site where Martin County Sheriff’s Office investigators were searching for the body of missing Hobe Sound woman Tricia Todd, Sheriff William Snyder said.

[...]

The remains were found in a container placed in a hole about 3 feet deep, according to Snyder. The site is west of Hobe Sound, near the Martin and Palm Beach county line.

The remains have not been identified, Snyder said while addressing reporters shortly before 10:30 p.m.

A forensics team stopped its excavation effort and will resume again at first light Friday morning. A forensic anthropologist will be coming from the west coast of Florida to assist with the excavation effort, Snyder said.

I'm now picturing the plastic barrels used in Breaking Bad. :/

Partial remains found in shallow grave. According to the sheriff, the body is in pieces.

Speechless. It just gets worse & worse. Sounds like his plea deal may have just gone out the window.

Per the Search Warrant,

"Steven advised he left Tricia's I-Phone and pink wallet next to her to make it look like she was hitchhiking or to call somebody in case she woke up."

https://www.scribd.com/doc/313948898/Steven-Williams-PC

The search warrant sounds like they have a great deal of his actions that night on CCTV including doing a U-turn on her street. He told cops he was going to get Tricia's computer for her, but then felt weird and did the U-turn and went back to B&B.

I cant get it to open in my Scribd App. Only 1st 2 pages. Can someone post it in its entirety?

0110 hours: Video catches a vehicle similar to Tricia's being driven out of Poinciana Gardens.

0129 hours: Same vehicle returns and makes a U-turn north of Tricia's residence.

0123 hours: Tricia's cell phone connection was turned off.

0204 hours: Same vehicle seen leaving Poinciana Gardens again...

0211 hours: Seen driving South of Tricia's residence.

0441: A subject matching the physical characteristics matching of Steven's description is seen walking north away from the area of Tricia's residence and into the Poinciana Gardens neighborhood.

The witness account of the neighbor was corroborated by video evidence that Steven had driven Tricia's car away from the residence at least one time.

I've been following from the sidelines and had hoped even though it wasn't likely that Tricia left on her own. But this? This is sickening beyond belief.

PARAPHRASING HERE!!! Oh he went to retrieve her laptop os she could do work, while her and the baby watched tv at his rented place, he agreed to keep the peace. He felt weird going to her brother's home, so he u-turned. Upon returning
he advised her she was out of gas, she asked him to go get gas, he agreed to keep the peace :ohwow:

Upon returning from getting gas, he found her face down with a cut to her head, loaded her in her car and drove around iwht her for a while so he could think! Placed her body with her phone on the side of the road, so it would appear she was hitchhiking or could call someone if she did wake up.

Then changed the story to, he shoved her after she repeatedly got in his face, he loaded her body into her car and was going to leave her and her car in front of her house, until he got there and found lights on in the house. So THEN he took her body out and laid it beside the road

I apologize for my ongoing morbid speculation on the containers, but your emphasis the word made me think of another possibility: those very large lidded storage buckets you can get at Target or Walmart these days, usually made by Rubbermaid, but not always. Am I the only one who has lots of these in my house for long-term storage?

According to the affidavit, Williams said he and Tricia were arguing over finances and she became increasingly aggressive.

He claims he eventually pushed her away and when she "got in his face" again he pushed her and she fell and struck her head and did not get up, according to the report.

Williams says when he couldn't wake her up he put Tricia into her car and drove to her home. But as he got closer he saw lights on and a car at the house and he felt uncomfortable leaving her body and car there, the report states.

I have at least two.

I wonder if at some point (hopefully during a 1st degree murder trial) we'll be seeing video of him buying the containers and acid.

I can't believe how fast it all went down, and that it turned out to be the old "husband did it" after all. Her journal sounded very troubled.

I'd be troubled, too, if I 'd spent 15+ years with a psychopath.

IMO I believe he may have dug the hole prior to her being dead. So many factors here point to premeditation and based upon those very factors I can only come up with him having all the necessities such as shovel, acid, container etc. and digging the hole prior to even committing the act of murder.
Driving distance from Poinciana Gardens to where they believe her partial remains are would take a minimum of 20 minutes each direction driven. So right off the bat you have a minimum of 40 minutes drive time consumed. I'm thinking with time of morning it was, the ghost town Hobe Sound becomes after 9:30 PM mixed with bored MCSO begging for a reason to pull people over that SW would be closely following speed limits causing drive time to be closer to 25-30 minutes each way. That said your pretty close to a full hour of drive time. Then to have everything else including digging a decent size hole in a very isolated area that at night is pitch black would be very risky even using the lowest light possible to dig, move & bury container. After seeing this area earlier this evening the smallest of light in that place would easily be recognized by possible passerby or patrolmen. I don't think he could've done all this in the 2 hour time frame that affidavit lays out.

Yeah, I have a lot of them. Christmas decorations, books, that kind of thing. My point being--this might be something in the house already that he made use of, so there may be no record of purchasing it that night.

He could've also stored remains for a couple hours in rental truck within bin and dropped the body and buried it the morning he took F to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary. Location from Possible remains site to Busch Wildlife is a short distance and would once again place him on camera in an effort to corroborate his planned lies he was staging...just food for thought...
