Good. Glad prosecutors are not cutting AF's mother a break.

:mad:Is CS stupid or something?! She knows she did what she’s accused of. She knows her son is an extraordinarily vicious murderer. Does lack of remorse plus lack of empathy runs in that family?! That’s what this looks like to me! Sheesh! If she had an iota of human decency, she’d admit her wrongdoing and accept the punishment.

ST. JOHNS, Fla. – Tristyn Bailey’s family will again mark the day of her death with a community gathering Tuesday night in St. Johns -- but this year they will do it knowing her killer has been sentenced to life in prison.

The murder of the 13-year-old competitive cheerleader rocked the entire St. Johns County community, and many have continued to mourn with her family as they sought justice against her killer, Aiden Fucci.

Tristyn was killed on Mother’s Day 2021 after going on a middle-of-the-night walk with then-14-year-old Fucci, her schoolmate.

Jury selection for Smith’s trial is set to begin Monday, and trial is set to begin next Wednesday; however, if jury selection goes longer than one day, it will continue the following Monday.

Bailey’s family members released the following statement through a spokesperson Tuesday:

“On this extremely difficult day, the second anniversary of our daughter’s and sister’s death, we attended a court hearing on the case against Crystal Smith. It was antagonizing to say the least, and anger ridden as she has continuously failed to take responsibility.

We were hoping that a plea deal would be reached. This obviously would be a benefit to our family so that we can take our next step forward in focusing on the life and legacy of Tristyn. We also strongly feel this would benefit the community, particularly the children who have had to endure these years of lost innocence replay over and over in their mind.

Crystal Smith, the Florida mother who allegedly scrubbed the blood off her son’s jeans after he murdered a 13-year-old cheerleader, has reached a plea deal with prosecutors that could land her a short stint in prison, according to a report.

Smith is expected to plead guilty to evidence tampering Friday — nearly a year after she allegedly tried to cover up Aiden Fucci’s brutal murder of Tristyn Bailey — sources familiar with the case told Action News.

The exact details of the plea deal are unknown, though it could include up to 5 years of probation and a “small amount of jail time,” the outlet reported.

Smith’s attorneys declined to comment, telling The Post it is the firm’s policy to only “speak in the courtroom.”
