Pasco County sheriff's deputies discovered multiple homicide victims and a child missing while conducting a welfare check Thursday.

Deputies are looking for 4-year-old Ismael Santisteban, who they say may be with 28-year-old Adam Matos in a 1991 blue Ford pickup truck.

The Sheriff's Office says Ismael Santisteban was last seen at his home at 7718 Hatteras Drive on August 28...

Detectives call Matos a person of interest in the case.

Late Thursday afternoon, at least two dozen sheriff's patrol cars lined the road, where police tape kept onlookers and media at a distance. Deputies, detectives and forensics investigators milled about.

Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco was expected to give a statement at 5:30 p.m.

The news report just said two adult males and two adult females were found dead.

This article says that he is Tristan's/Ismael's father allegedly.

While conducting a welfare check at the home, the child was discovered missing. Deputies also discovered the bodies of two men and two women three quarters of a mile down the road. “While circulating an area, one of our sergeants smelled something horrible. He saw birds circulating," Sheriff Chris Nocco said. "At that time he noticed over a hill there were several bodies.”

Nocco said Matos was involved in a domestic incident at the home last week but Matos was not there when deputies arrived.

Nocco warns if the public sees the boy or Matos, do not approach them but rather call 911.

I can't imagine! How awful. The Sgt sees the birds circulating and the distinct smell. He knew what was probably on the other side of that hill but still had to face it.

The sheriff said Matos worked at a restaurant down the street from the home called 'Get Hooked' and he has family in Pennsylvania and Florida...

“Our main concern is to get Tristan back and make sure he is safe because I can tell you right now we have grave concerns about him being with Adam," Nocco said.

I wonder if Matos would head back to PA with the boy?

Deputies who responded found "obvious signs that something bad had happened in that house," Nocco said. The house, a beige two-story with large white columns at the entrance, sits along a palm tree-lined street not far from the Gulf...

"We have great concerns with him being with Adam," Nocco said. "If he is pushed the wrong way, (he) may cause serious harm to people."

Matos has no criminal record in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Nocco said Matos recently moved to Florida from Orefield, Pa. The Sheriff's Office has been in contact with family members of the boy in Florida, the Pennsylvania State Police, and "numerous other law enforcement agencies."
