OMG..have just read 50+ pages--WOW...was like following the trial live. :happydance: As tired as I am, I could not stop reading. All the excitement, the posts/comments, the tweets, everything--thanks so much! Cannot believe AM actually took the stand... :thud: I'm kinda speechless really lol. What on earth did he hope to achieve? Just unbelievable!!! He did himself no favours at all, although I must admit, I did have a few questions I'd pondered, answered by him testifying, one being...where was Tristan while the killings took place---I DID NOT like the answer either--the very thought of the darling wee chap being locked in a room for hours on end, not only on the night the killings took place, but on the following days and/or nights, did not sit well with me--it angers me to no end!

Anywho, just want to add another huge thank you to all those who contributed to the thread in any way... :yourock:

I'm hitting the sack now and will check in tomorrow *afternoon my time* ... Night all. :seeya:

Sooo happy to see you back UT!! We were starting to get worried about you. Normal life 'does' still go on during these trials!

Monday starts the mitigation & penalty phases...maybe he helped someone get gas like Jeffrey Willis did...geesh, that was the lamest mitigator I think I had ever seen!

I guess that's the attorney Livermore at the defense table now.

Good Morning scmom!

So the defense wanted to put him back on the stand Thursday after they rested on Wednesday?

http://www.tbo.com/news/courts/criminal/adam-matos-guilty-in-brutal-hudson-quadruple-murder/2344380

Matos had stunned trial spectators Wednesday by confessing from the witness stand. His attorneys wanted to put him back on the stand Thursday, but Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Mary Handsel said the additional questions weren't relevant.

With the jury in deliberations, one of Matos' attorneys questioned him, anyway, apparently to preserve an appellate record. The judge left the room.
Mr. Matos, what was that day, Aug. 28, 2014, like for you?" attorney Dillon Vizcarra asked.

"It was the worst day of my life, a horrible experience, like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from," Matos said.

Defense attorney trying to coerce judge into saying that if AM is sentenced to LWOP he will never get out. Judge is saying nope, she's not going to add that wording.

AM is looking like he's in a daze

I only heard two aggravating factors; previous felony conviction and especially heinous, atrocious or cruel. What about financial gain?

Did I just hear he had to move to Florida and it put him in this “situation”.

He put himself in this. Their relationship was not stable- he knew that.

Some mitigators mentioned...Loved his mother, loved his brother, grew up in poverty

Now going over potential mitigating factors. And what does his demeanor during the course of the trial have to do with being a mitigating factor? I must be missing something.

Wonder how the defense would like it if the judge told the jury that LWOP means that under current law AM would spend the rest of his life in prison, but she could not guarantee that the law couldn't be changed in the future?

I think they are 'trying' to get at his lack of emotion and that statement they had him make after jury instructions to have on the record

He suited up today, even though jury wasn't there
