Adrianna is very upset. Maggie was like her mom. She doesn’t know how she feels about Adam because she loves them all.

Adam shows NOTHING. As this girl sobs. I’m crying. I want to let this girl move in with me and my family- he is not human.

As with other witnesses state wants to know if what Adam did with Tristan in the home changes her opinion of him. She answers yes.

Something about horses. She says yes they raise horses. Then no further questions.


She sits on the Browns side not the Matos side.

Next witness- kiara. She is Adrianna’s mother.

Met Maggie through her boyfriend. They met at the feed store. Her and her boyfriend went to see Maggie’s horse and they then became best friends. (My condensed version of what she said LOL).

Now she is saying Adrianna looked at Megan as her second Mom. I️ thought she had said Maggie earlier. I️ may have gotten it wrong. Adrianna used to take the bus to Megan/Maggie’s home instead of her own.

At some point Megan lived with kiara. She doesn’t remember the year. Adam never lived there. He was there often to visit Tristan.

At some point she became responsible for Adams mothers finances. State objects. Sounds like she was given information about Adams mother that would make her not able to take care off her own finances. Not sure, but that seems like where it’s going.

This witness has no recollection of dates or when things happened. Witness states she saw paperwork that said Rose was diagnosed with mental retardation.

First word that comes to mind when asked about Adam and Tristan “beautiful”


Shown photos. She identifies them as Adam and Tristan. She cries while saying it. She mumbles and moves her head often when speaking. Hard to understand her.

#AdamMatos - Defendant's mother says she also had a boyfriend that was abusive.

Rose Matos says she loves her son no matter what. She's hurt by what has happened.

mother: I love my son no matter what. I am hurt just like any parent would feel hurt. It's hard, I can't even explain to you, it's hard. As a parent you try to teach your children there has to be another way from what you see on TV or what you see with your eyes

Next witness for the defense is Angela Bracale, defendant's aunt.

Next witness is Estelle Austin, she lived near the Brown's. She gave $100 to Matos to buy a bike after she saw him walking to work.

The jury is back in the courtroom. The defense continues with their witnesses.
Maxine Jones called to the stand. She said she's better known to Adam Matos as 'Big Mommy'. She is godmother to Matos.

'Big Mommy''s voice breaks as she identifies Matos, "Hi Adam".

As Former Law Enforcement Big Mommy sure is devoted to the Admitted & Convicted Murderer

godmother: Whatever the circumstances that led up to what he did, what he admitted to, it is what it is... He loved his son so much that he would do anything for his son as far as protection goes. I can't imagine anyone trying to take his son from him.

Nancy Matos, defendant's aunt, next on the stand.

Brown family friend Adriana Clauss now called to the stand by the defense. She said the Brown family was like family to her. She knew Matos through Megan.

Clauss is crying on the stand. She says Matos was a good dad. She lived with Megan for awhile and saw interactions with Matos and son.

Family friend Chiara Clauss, next on the stand. She befriended Matos' mother, Rose.

State asks same question to her as to other witnesses. Does knowing he admitted to that change your opinion of him. She says it’s difficult for her to answer. She can’t even imagine him doing that.

Please no - they are going to redirect. They want to clarify how she found out about the mental retardation diagnosis of Adams mother.
