Next witness is Diane Matos. She is Uncle Hector’s wife. She met Adam five years ago. She had lots of contact with Adam over the last five years. (Guess Uncle hector doesn’t remember).

She observed him with Tristan at her home. She describes him as a father that really loves his son. Defense done.

Cross- establishes Adam has been in jail 3 of the 5 years she has known him. She agrees.

State asking the same of other witnesses. Knowing what you know now does it change your opinion of what kind of father Adam is. She doesn’t believe he would allow Tristan to see anything. Her opinion wasn’t changed.

State goes on about all the horrible things that happened. She maintains she thinks he’s a good father.

Witness is done.

Next witness is James Ingram. James is a childhood friend.

Describes Adams life after high school. Working, dating etc. they shared a house together 2007/2008. Tells us that Adam went to the audio institute in NYC while living about 1.5 hours away. He would take a bus. As far as he knew he completed the school.

Describes Adams demeanor as happy go lucky and laid back. Fun guy that wants to have a good time. Has been a good friend. Saw him with Tristan several times. Said he was good with Tristan and very attentive. Adam and him talked about being a good father and getting a job.

On the plan to move to Florida- brown family was moving and he was going to join them. Adam made plans to get a job bar tending. He was happy to go. He wanted to be as close to his son as he could.

Now he’s talking about the ac not working in the house in Florida and Adam called him for advice. (This guy is a HVAC repairman). He talked him through fixing it.

He has had contact with home since the arrest. He will maintain contact. He has tried to support him
By giving him money when he can. Updates him on his family.

Cross is now questioning James Ingram. Apparently Adam called him on September 4 at 11 pm. He said it was a very brief conversation.

State will now ask the same question as other witnesses. State asks if Tristan being home while bodies in the house is being an attentive father. He agrees not very attentive. State tells him how Tristan was left alone- witness says he’s not totally aware of all the facts. He seems to be genuine that he’s not aware of all the facts.

State basically gives him all the facts of times that Adam was not attentive and asks him to agree that it’s not very attentive. It’s a long list.

Witness testified earlier that Adam was laid back. State asks him is greeting someone with 9 blows to the head is not very laid back. He agrees it’s not laid back.

State asks witness if he would have been supportive of him before he murdered if he had reached out for help.

No redirect. Skype witnesses done.

If anyone has time to watch the trial or the penalty phase later after it’s all done it’s worth the watch IMO. I️ wish I️ could watch every single one- but life gets in the way!

Defense rests.

Judge asking jury about deliberations. Apparently she asked them before break if they wanted to do it all today and go to a hotel tonight. Foreman says they want to deliberate tomorrow. Jury dismissed until tomorrow at 9:30 am for closings.

Judge is going over jury instructions with attorneys.

I’m not sure how I️ feel this will go. I️ am certainly surprised about all the witnesses they were able to muster up for him. Some were pretty useless in my opinion.

If he doesn’t get death I️ think it’s because they feel sorry for the family. They all maintain that they will support him and will keep contact with him. I’m not sure it’s enough to outweigh the fact that Tristan was there and left alone all those times with dead bodies.

Going over mitigating factors.

Mental illness being taken out. Slow learner in school taken out. Not speaking until 5 taken out. Put boyfriends before children taken out. Bullied because he was light skinned was taken out. Taking out the endures uncertainty that Tristan was his son. (Tristan had the last name of Megan’s boyfriend because her and Adam were on and off). Wait no not taking it out. Just taking out that Megan said it. Taking out Adam shows potential for rehabilitation.

Edit- they are still arguing some of these and I️ have to make dinner. Sorry!

I️ think there will be a verdict Wednesday. Maybe even tomorrow.

Niner you didn’t miss much. I️ was able to listen in my kitchen- they ended pretty early. Just went over what would be taken out of the instructions and talked about the impact statements. Family from out of town said they would like to do their statements tomorrow depending on the verdict. They won’t be back for sentencing if they vote death. So either way they are saying what they need to say tomorrow.

Judge said if you come back life she will sentence him right then.

I️ have no plans tomorrow except planning for our thanksgiving meal. I️ should be able to watch most of it.

I️ don’t see any action in the courtroom. I️ thought they said 9:30 yesterday. I️ switched over to closing arguments with Sasha’s trial. (Stephen Duxbury I️ think his name is ).

Anyway I’ll keep checking.

Edit 9:58 there is a picture, but no sound. Lawyers at bench. Adam is not in the courtroom.

Edit 10am they are ready to start. I️ do t know why I️ didn’t see Adam earlier. I️ still haven’t but I️ assume he’s there LOL.
