HCSO confirmed to Fox 13 that while they handed out flyers, they received a tip that led them to Sand Key yesterday.

Interview with Bristy’s brother aired just a few minutes ago. -18:00 time stamp or so. He’s extremely worried and confirms they have had no updates from Bristy. He says they (Bristy’s family) did not think Limon and Bristy were dating, but that there was some kind of ‘like’ or emotional connection.

Those northbound lanes have been closed since 7:30 or so. Explicitly not due to a crash, it’s LE activity. Fox 13 again confirms that the scene is related to the search. There’s another scene along 28th St N in Pinellas county that officials have ALSO confirmed is linked to the missing USF students.

I knew when I saw the lanes on the bridge closed this morning it was likely related. So now we have a neighborhood in Tampa, a property in Pinellas and the bridge.

Not necessarily. LE uses the term "crime scene" in such cases rather generically. For example, when I went out on a plane crash, it was always classified as a "crime scene" internally and sometimes to media. That just ensured the correct forensic protocols were followed to avoid loss or damage to evidence. Crime scene tape, you don't get past the tape without a LE type badge (ours were only used at crashes and for small airplane crashes we usually worked with the Highway Patrol), proper hazmat gear for biohazard scenes. etc.

Very few crashes actually involved a "crime" short of violation of federal air regs though a few did, I've been involved with murder suicide by aircraft investigations and possible sabatoge ones.

Fox 13 is reporting live from the Lake Forest Community. Dozens of HCSO deputies, at least 4 different local command units, bomb squad, mobile command center, SWAT unit, and crisis negotiation team.

Residents of the Lake Forest neighborhood are being kept out of the community and on the other side of the street.

ETA - police told Fox 13 they are not evacuating, but won’t allow folks who were out and about back into the neighborhood.

The neighborhood/apartment complex is just over a mile away from USF campus. Do we know where either of them were living?

Fox13 just answered my question - says they do not think that either student lived there but is unsure.
