28th and Roosevelt photo attached. Apparently on private property.Fox 13 is back.
Those northbound has been closed since 7:30 or so. Explicitly not due to a crash, it’s LE activity. Fox 13 again confirms that the scene is related to the search. There’s another scene along 28th St N in Pinellas county that officials have ALSO confirmed is linked to the missing USF students.
Fox 13 just confirmed on their livestream that the Howard Frankland bridge closure IS related to the missing students.
ETA: potentially more info at 11.
it’s about a 45 minute drive from 28th & Roosevelt to Bruce B Downs and Lake Forest Dr, over the Howard Frankland bridge.ANOTHER closure confirmed by Fox13 to be related to the missing students investigation
And the Sand Key search where they collected something.
I knew when I saw the lanes on the bridge closed this morning it was likely related. So now we have a neighborhood in Tampa, a property in Pinellas and the bridge.
Crime scene tape up. This is very strange.Interesting that it's swat officers there. There being Lake Forest neighborhood.
Not necessarily. LE uses the term "crime scene" in such cases rather generically. For example, when I went out on a plane crash, it was always classified as a "crime scene" internally and sometimes to media. That just ensured the correct forensic protocols were followed to avoid loss or damage to evidence. Crime scene tape, you don't get past the tape without a LE type badge (ours were only used at crashes and for small airplane crashes we usually worked with the Highway Patrol), proper hazmat gear for biohazard scenes. etc.Does anyone think a third party might be involved?
