Earlier in the day, police arrested Hisham Abugarbieh, a roommate of Limon, after he barricaded himself inside a home about a mile from the university, Maurer said. Abugarbieh faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, tampering with evidence and unlawfully holding or removing a dead human body.
Maurer said authorities are "still actively searching" for Bristy, who lived on campus.
"I implore the community, if you have any tips ... please report it to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office immediately so we can recover her to safety," Maurer told reporters.
Authorities found the remains of one missing USF student and arrested his roommate, police said. The search for another student continues.
