Flight 253 - Cover up?

Cypros, I agree with your post, with one exception. Dick Clarke, who was the terrorism Czar knew when 9-11 happened it had something to do with bin Laden. Even when the President did NOT want to believe that and wanted to hang it on Saddam Hussein, Clarke tried to set him and Cheney straight.

I would strongly advise everyone who is interested in this issue to read "Against All Enemies" by Richard (Dick) Clarke. It really opened my eyes to threats that we Americans face both here and abroad. The book goes into detail of how then President Clinton tried to eliminate bin Laden, contrary to what others want to believe. It also brings out that GWB, Cheney, and Condi Rice among others did NOT believe that bin Laden or Al Queda was a threat to our national security. As we've seen, they could NOT have been more wrong.

I certainly hope President Obama does whatever it takes to keep us safe from terrorism. He really needs to seek the advice of former President Clinton and Dick Clarke, IMO.

Tezi,
The problem wasn't so much that the Bush administration didn't believe it was Al-Qaida but that they were determined to invade Iraq for entirely different reasons and wanted to use the 9/11 attack as their excuse. The public was manipulated into supporting their plan by being fed misinformation.

I totally agree with that. I guess I should have worded my post better.

Mr. Haskell and his wife are both lawyers, so I'm sure they know more about what is an arrest versus detained etc... Either way, it was never mentioned, then it was denied, then it did happen, but not related. Which is it?? This situation is different than most, as it involves an attempted terrorist situation in our country, and could have disastrously affected hundreds of American citizens.

The citizens of this country have a right to know what was, and is, going on. If someone else was even detained, and not arrested, we have the right to know. We are the travelers, and we are the taxpayers. We are the very people paying the salaries of all levels of LE and officials involved. They may hold back some details, but I am owed the information regarding the basics of any terrorist situation on our soil. As is any other American.

Cover-up? You betcha. DHS was aware of alot going on in the days leading up to this botched plot. The information came straight from the father of the little Panty Bomber 🤬🤬🤬, and we did nothing. When the attempt of 12/25 was happening, that info should have been spread through the airlines and to crews of enroute flights, but that didn't happen. The President didn't have anything to say for a few days. Janet Napolitano said everything worked, and then had to back track and say it didn't. Then the President says everything failed. Didn't bother to cut his vacation short, as I guess this isn't all that important to him. He is a pathetic waste of air who doesn't seem to want to mess with the terrorists. hhmmmmmm......I wonder why???....

MOO

Your President is "a pathetic waste of air"??
Wow...

So, Mr. Haskell says the alleged terrorist had no passport? Why wouldn't the alleged terrorist have a passport? Supposedly he had a visa to US to visit as many times as he wanted. It also has been reported he had visited US in 2008.
So, I am not sure how all of it adds up.

What I got out of the article is Mr Haskell was saying he avoided the normal passport check and bar code scan by saying he didn't have one and going into a back room and showing it to someone there (like once he got back there, oops I do have it afterall!) because then the red flags associated with his passport would not be revealed to the airport employees as the passport bar code wasn't scanned.
