Except that lady lied and has an extensive record of felonies. She didn’t design the website she was just causing trouble.

Everyone is just so impressed by the leadership of Governor Desantis. And the low numbers of cases in Florida.

The rest of the United States has to watch how successful Florida is at getting back to work. And other governors need to take lessons from Desantis on how to manage data in their states. o_O

Guessing the accuracy is subject to interpretation.....

Florida's COVID-19 cases zoom past 51,000, and Miami-Dade now has 17,000-plus infections

MIAMI — Florida blew past 51,000 confirmed COVID-19 infections as the number of daily confirmed cases continued to rise in the state.

Monday’s report from the Florida Department of Health added another 879 confirmed cases to the state total that now stands at 51,746. Of that, the South Florida pandemic epicenter — Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties — accounted for 429, or 48.8%.

TESTING

Testing in Florida has grown steadily since the COVID-19 crisis began with a steady decline in the percentage of people testing positive, as the testing isn’t being limited to people in high-risk groups or showing symptoms.

As of Monday, the state has done a total of 909,528 tests. The state says there are 1,693 pending tests.
Testing, like hospitalizations, helps officials determine the virus’ progress and plays a role in deciding whether it is safe to lift stay-at-home orders and loosen restrictions.

The recommended numbers of daily tests needed varies by experts but the dean of the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine told the governor Florida needs to test about 33,000 people every day. Monday’s update showed an increase of 37,012 tests from Sunday’s update.

Knock knock.... LOL!

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) - Imagine waking up to weird noises outside your home, and when you check what’s going on through your Ring doorbell you see a gator on your doorstep.

Those critters are fast too. One morning, we were living in West Palm Beach, I go out to the car, the kids pile in to go to school, about 6:15ish, I turn on the car, it was sort of half dark, and this 5 footer goes running out from under MY CAR! We back up, and he is clearly running away, fast. Like a horse or something.

That, is one more reason why I decided to move away from Florida.

Wow. This is scary. I hope they are accurately tracking the before opening and after opening numbers. It is almost as if the 1st wave isn't even done yet and now the numbers will explode.

Florida coronavirus cases push past 52,000 as death toll rises to 2,259

MIAMI — Florida’s Department of Health confirmed 509 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide as beaches, hotels and gyms reopened in Broward County on Tuesday morning. The state now has a total of 52,255 confirmed cases.

It is not going to take long before people's unemployment fund balances run out. I hope this program doesn't run out of funding before 12/26/2020.

Floridians can get 13 additional weeks of unemployment under federal program

The Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) program allows you to get up to $275 per week in unemployment benefits for 13 weeks, in addition to the $600 in weekly benefits through the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program (FPCU). FPCU funds are only applied to weeks of unemployment from March 29, 2020 through July 25, 2020.

The PEUC program funds, however, are payable through December 26, 2020.

In order to be considered for the PEUC program, the balance of your current "reemployment assistance" through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) needs to be expired or exhausted and you are still unemployed. You may also be eligible if you have a "reemployment assistance" claim that expired after July 1, 2019.

Any current reemployment assistance claim must be exhausted or expired before you can apply for PEUC.

Oh lord have mercy please don't bring the convention here. The only cities equipped to accommodate it are Tampa, which is not likely, or Orlando. No way people are going to go to Miami. They may be belligerent about wearing a mask but they’re not stupid. Our virus numbers will explode if FL hosts.

I used to live south of the Cape back in the mid 80s. That area has been depressed since the shuttle blew up decades ago. I actually used to get passes from my friend, pile a bunch of us in a covered pick up truck and go watch the launches. The area bobs up and down as far as affordability goes. There were a ton of businesses that supported the shuttle/space program that just couldn’t survive. I do hope this infusion of space work helps their economy recover. But lets face it, it has nothing to do with whoever is sitting in the White House and everything to do with private industry.

Florida reports 424 new cases, 7 more deaths of COVID-19

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are set to attend in person to watch SpaceX become the first private company to launch humans into orbit.

Despite NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine’s plea to the public, asking people to watch the historic launch from home, Brevard County officials are predicting around 200,000 will make the trip to the Space Coast for the launch.

Yep, my thoughts too

In Audacious Move, Georgia and Florida Governors Offer to Host G.O.P. Convention

“Florida would love to have the R.N.C.,” Mr. DeSantis said at a news conference in Miami. “Heck, I’m a Republican — it would be good for us to have the D.N.C., in terms of the economic impact when you talk about major events like that.”

Could Trump move the Republican convention to Florida? The state GOP is all for it.

Trump said on Twitter Monday that he is not interested in hosting the event at his Doral golf resort in South Florida.

I’m about an hour from the Cape it is pouring/thundering here now...

NASA is, however, monitoring weather reports at the Florida launch site that may delay proceedings. The Air Force's 45th Space Wing, which oversees space launch operations from the East Coast, currently forecasts a 50 percent chance that clouds or stormy weather will violate established launch safety guidelines. If that happens, NASA and SpaceX will have another opportunity to send the Crew Dragon capsule into orbit on Saturday.

SpaceX launch today: The countdown begins, but stormy weather looms

Masks required... in the heat...in Florida. I hope they have ambulances stationed throughout the parks. People will faint from heat exhaustion. Hydration stations better be free too. You can’t expect people to stay hydrated as well when it is $2/bottle of water.

The Disney theme park, which employs some 70,000 people, plans to begin a phased reopening on July 11 for its Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks and July 15 for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, the company said on Wednesday.
