I had decided earlier in the week to do a 24 fast today not realizing it was Super Bowl Sunday. We don't watch the game anyway so it really doesn't matter. I started my fast last night so I'll be breaking it in about 5 hours with meatballs, spaghetti squash and Rao's marinara. No bread. It's part of a diet I've been doing the last 6 months. I've lost 55 pounds so I'm sticking with it. Enjoy your lovely sounding meals today. I know I'm looking forward to mine!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Those Rao pasta sauces are pricey but so good. I buy several jars when they are on special at Nino Salvaggio. We also like Silver Palate pasta sauces.

DH and I have been noshing on Mexican seven-layer dip with tortilla chips and will have our Naan pizzas at half-time of the big game. DH went to Costco this morning and got a large carton of Hamentashen for dessert for the next week or so. Why Do Jews Eat Hamantaschen Pastries on Purim? (thespruceeats.com) We'll have a Costco rotisserie chicken tomorrow and Tuesday.

DH made reservations at Andiamo for next Monday (February 15). We've never been there before but have a $200 gift card. Perusing the menu, it looks like we'll need every bit of that $200... and then some :D Andiamo Italian Restaurant - Bloomfield Township, MI

I didnt realise you still had eat in options there. Ours have been closed forever and looks like they will not reopen before April

Restaurants were allowed to reopen for indoor dining on February 1. Lots of restrictions - 25% capacity, must close at 10:00PM, no more than two households represented at tables spaced 6' apart, etc. The current plan is in place for three weeks and could change if there's an uptick in Covid cases.

Do diners have to wear masks? Before lockdown diners here had to wear masks in between eating.

We could have eaten out in October for our 10th anniversary but decided to park it because we thought it would seem so odd and we might not enjoy it.

Actually just thinking, I think the last time we ate out was early June .

Diners must wear masks when entering and leaving the restaurant and whenever moving about in the facility, i.e. going to the restroom. No masks while eating, but all staff must wear them at all times.

Clean out the fridge vegetable soup yesterday with homemade cornbread (NO sugar!). Pre pandemic we ate out once a week. Now it's been exactly once since last March and I didn't feel comfortable then.

That sounds wonderful! It’s been 11 months since I’ve dined inside a restaurant, the numbers are just too high here for a comfortable dining experience for me. I would enjoy someone else cooking for a change. The menu looks enticing!

The only restaurants where we've dined since last March are very spacious, and patrons can be spread out in multiple dining areas. We would not feel comfortable in a small restaurant with limited dining space. This would include local places where we might go for breakfast.

It does! I'm going to keep it simple to start with a small caprese salad and then go for it with the gamberi on the main. A bellini or two would be nice too :)

This is our fave restaurant. Mr HKP bless him would always drive, so I start with a champagne brandy cocktail with the menu and the "colonel" sorbet is a must. The rest I'll leave up to you ;)

Havent been in a year! Hope they are doing ok, lovely people.

I hope you and your husband have a wonderful dinner! I think I would order this:

Frutti di Mare
Fruits of the Sea Pasta
Pan seared scallops, mussels, shrimp, calamari, garlic, white wine, tomato, homemade pasta · 35.95

We order a similar dish ($24) as takeout from our local favorite Italian restaurant. We share one order and I make a salad. A bargain! We usually order a slice of limoncello cake to split for dessert. Hard to say when we will dine in a restaurant again.

We're having a virtual meal out :D

Their menus are wonderful! Can one gain weight from salivating over a menu?

We are having leftover Super Bowl pizza tonight. :D I'll make a salad. No complaints, makes it easy for me to prepare and for him to clean up after dinner!

Perfect! We had sausage and mash (v English :D)

They are a fab French family and the food and service is really good. Its pricey though and a good 30 mins drive, so it's a treat kind of place.

OMG! That menu looks amazing. I would have a difficult time deciding what to order. That said, I never pass up the opportunity to have Steak Tartare, and I would probably enjoy the Bouillabaise. French bread with butter and olives would be nice starters. Red wine - I hope they have a nice wine list :D

I miss the local places. You will have to share your dining experience with us. I bet it will be wonderfully delicious!

This is probably what DH will order. He likes seafood and pasta dishes. I will likely get a chicken dish; Olivia's Chicken sounds good. I try to avoid too much starch.

I like white and they did have an unusual one from Alsace. Mr HKP would have a bottle of "proper" French cider - he loves fruity cider.
