Thanks for the quick link! Mine is Earthbound Farms but it seems these recalls tend to expand as they trace back where the greens went. When they had the big spinach recall years ago it started with a few brands and expanded. I will probably toss it. Boo.
I survived Publix. Now I need a nap. It wasn’t too busy. I can’t believe I spent $80+ and got 5-6 little plastic bags of food, no meat either.
There were empty shelves in the juice and drinks, even soda. The selections were fewer in some things. The tissues were nearly gone. Oh and the frozen potato case was nearly empty. The frozen sausage patties and breakfast items were sparse.
The McCormick spice packets were refilled thankfully. I found my low sodium mild chili mix. I don’t make chili often enough to invest in all the spices to make my own.
Lots of produce that looked good. I got the package of 3 Romaine heads. I’ll wash them as usual.
The soup bar didn’t have tomato soup so I got a quart of the Panera brand. It’s pricey but when you’re too sick and tired to even try to make it, it’s worth it.
This potato soup is amazing. It is vegan but you can easily use whatever ingredients you like, milk..butter..in substitution.Just checking in. Sorry to hear you're sick! Hope you're feeling better soon!
I'm getting into "soup" mode, too. Made some Pasta Fagioli the other day. Really easy once you find a good recipe. I was watching the Turner Classic Movies documentary about Dean Martin a while back. His daughter said his favorite food was Pasta Fazool, as he called it. She said her grandmother gave her the special recipe - use Romano cheese instead of Parmesan and, when it's finished cooking add a bit of cinnamon. I did in the last batch and it was very good.
We did a hickory smoked ham for Christmas dinner, so I have quite a bit left over. I'll be doing the bean soup. Any other soup recipe suggestions? I'm having fun with the soup kick. It's really easy.
Glad you are feeling on the mend and ready to go out for dinner. My friend and her Dad are taking me to Cracker Barrel for dinner! They must have known I was thinking about chicken and dumplings! LOL!!

I keep side eyeing the left over parsnips and carrots. I might get to the soup tomorrow!I also make split pea soup with leftover ham bone. When we've had prime rib, I make beef-mushroom-barley soup. We didn't do prime rib this holiday season, but I feel like roasting one anyway. Maybe for my birthday later this month.
I watched that video of the doctor they interviewed that defined the difference between a cold and omicron Covid. I don’t have the extra symptoms of Covid nor the flu. Today is my 6th day of antibiotics. My drainage is much thinner and clearer.Glad you are feeling on the mend and ready to go out for dinner.
Have you been able to get a covid test, just in case? So many of my friends here with it are saying it feels like a cold.
We're being lazy here tonight - ready made pizzas!

Soup's on here. Since my brother bought a spiral-sliced ham for NYE, I asked what kind of soup he wanted. I soaked navy beans overnight, and the bone, chicken stock, carrots, onion, garlic, rosemary, and thyme are simmering gently on the stove. There is still a lot of meat to add to the soup, along with sliced carrots and chopped onion. DH will drop soup off tomorrow when he goes swimming.
We got at least 3" of snow overnight, and there are still flurries. DH is outdoors shoveling and blowing as I type. Snowplow hasn't been in our sub yet, but major roads need to be cleared first. We have no plans to go anywhere today, so county can take its time clearing subdivision.
PN, I'm glad you're finally at home and hope you will feel better soon.
If you want to make a really easy tomato soup, that is ready in 45 minutes and only needs 2 cans of tomatoes, a bit of butter, 1/2 onion, and some stock. Try this: Easy Three-Ingredient Tomato Soup
Just do the float test. If it sinks, it's good if it floats, it's bad. I test every egg before use.I have an egg question. I bought a carton in early Dec that has Dec 19th expiration date. They’re Grade A pasteurized. Should I throw them out?
Oh Cracker Barrel was so yummy. I ate real food & veggies! Plus a biscuit and a corn muffin. I was finally hungry. I forgot you could get just dumplins as a side dish.
I ordered the 4 veg plate. Carrots, green beans, dumplins. They were out of hashbrown casserole so I asked them to double the dumplins. I have a side of dumplins left and 4 biscuits. I don’t know why he brought me 2 more biscuits. But I’ll dip them in my tomato soup or my chili when I get it made.
I am going to boil eggs tomorrow. I bought some cottage cheese because I like crumbled boiled eggs on top. That will be good protein for me.
I rested in bed all afternoon. My head is almost clear as is what little bit of drainage I have left. My cough is productive. I am feeling much better tonight. Finally.
Bette, I wish you would make cooking videos! I would definitely subscribe!
A lot of jarred spaghetti sauce can be turned into tomato soup with some thinning or thickening or a few additions.... If you add cream, it will be tomato bisque, but fattier, of course.
