My husband decided to cook, he does it rarely, he browned a giant piece of meat, and put it in the crockpot with veggies.

I guess everyone is looking forward to comfort food.

DH and I talked about pot roast last night. It will be on the menu soon - maybe this weekend.

Speaking of comfort foods, what's everyone's favorite? For me, it's scrambled eggs.

Comfort food, pasta with lots of cheese. Yum.

Although, my kids are funny, when they were little, their favorite night was when I made Ramen for dinner, every Thursday night, and let them stay up to watch ER. Even now, they talk about how "awesome" that was...I cut up green onions, slivered small pieces of pork, baby bok choi. They had huge bowls of broth, and could add whatever they wanted...I cooked 8 or 10 packages of Ramen, so they could have double noodles.

They never knew it was just because I was too tired by the end of the week to cook! Pizza was always on Friday.

Mashed potatoes have always been my choice for comfort food.

Imo beef stew (and such) allllways tastes better after a day or two in the fridge. Mmm
I agree. I just had some and it was more flavorful and thicker too, even after I warmed it up.

Cooler weather means Seafood boil time! (oyster stew during the holidays was something my grandparents enjoyed. It was a special treat to get oysters)

Love oyster stew. We caught/picked some blue crab last weekend. Looking forward to some seafood gumbo.

We do mostly whole roasts with veggies in our crockpot (it’s a larger one). Dh has been doing a lot of pulled pork stuff recently. He has an insta pot? That’s been used maybe twice in a year. Ah well. Pandemic purchase.

My instapot is also lonely. Husband likes to use it, but tbh the heat and steam from the pressure cooker function is just more "action" than I like in my kitchen. It feels a little fussy to use. My favorite kitchen "tool" is my big Le Creuset pot. I call it my French magic pot. There isn't much I haven't cooked in it, even scrambled eggs because the even heat is beautiful. Pricey, but I've used it for 12 years now, and it just sits on my stove at all times, ready for the next meal.

Comfort food for me would be a big plate of cheese verde enchiladas with rice, beans, and guacamole. And some chips and salsa.

I'd be all over your comfort food, delicious.

Mac and cheese with leeks here tonight. That's probably my go-to comfort bowl when I'm home alone and want easy.

My grandma used to make the most delicious homemade noodles and cook them in the broth that she had leftover from boiling a couple of whole chickens.

She served the noodles on top of mashed potatoes, with fresh corn cut from the cob alongside.

True comfort food!

Mashed potatoes and gravy.
That was my pregnancy craving, many years ago. But the potato had to be made from the dehydrated stuff, and gravy from a stock cube! Lockdown has sent me full circle, with the store cupboard.

My LeCreuset pot is my favorite as well. It is big and was expensive but it sure can cook. I agree, it’s magic!

Our favorite comfort food is my homemade vegan pot pie!
I tried to post a picture but it was too big. I am not much good technology wise.
ETA: I got the picture to load sideways. Hope you can see it as I am sure this is the best I can get, lol.

Got a little cold front in last night. It's 54 which is 'cold' for us. Venison chili and grilled cheese on the menu tonight.

I finished all my beef stew. Next time I’ll be better at making it.

Tonight I thawed one of the burgers I made a few weeks ago. It occurred to me that if I don’t have pickles next time I want a burger, I will only have myself to blame. I opened a new jar and they essentially become my veggie side dish.

Last winter, Pillsbury Pumpkin Bread mixes went on clearance. I made myself a loaf today. Since I don’t need gluten free things, this is perfect. Rainy dreary day here. Warm bread and my tea.

That looks lovely, can almost smell the spicy warmth from here.

I went to the church this morning to get my ticket for the Tday food pickup. They gave me more food. Guess what I’m having? Pizza. Yes, pizza for breakfast. For some reason it just looks good. I don’t normally eat pepperoni pizza.

I am not a fan of broccoli but my youngest is. My oldest won’t buy bacon because she can’t afford $9/pkg. So, thru the blessings of others, we’re all covered this week.

The only thing better than pizza for breakfast is leftover cold pizza for breakfast.

My new aunt sent me this. I still consider her new since I just met her 2 years ago. I wish I could have known her my whole life. We seem to think alike on a lot of things.

I could have written this blog. This author has had MM for 20+ years. I can only hope and pray I’ll be that blessed. Every day is a gift.
