It was Chicken Taco Tuesday here. I had that ground chicken I didn’t know what to do with. I wanted tacos so I figured I’d give it a try. When I make beef tacos, I only use half the seasoning packet. But with the chicken being milder, I used the entire packet. I put in maybe a half a cup of water.

I made black beans with onion & garlic powder, salt, pepper and a pat of butter. I had two nearly empty bags of white cheeses. I added them to some Colby Jack cheese. Then my black olives and tomatoes. They were so good. I ate 3 stand & stuff tacos.

I had never heard of this chain restaurant. I doubt we'd ever go there - too much sugar isn't good for anyone :D Here's the menu: https://sugarfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/chicago_online-compressed.pdf Prices are ridiculous!

Omg! Those deserts look/sound amazing. But they are out of my budget.

The tacos look awesome. I have never made tacos as I always think they must be a nightmare to eat!! Does the taco not just crumble and it all gets a bit messy???

I don't like to eat "messy" foods, either. BBQ ribs, wings, oversized burgers, etc. are on my list of foods to avoid because I don't like eating messy stuff. Crispy tacos tend to be messier than soft tacos. I prefer soft tacos because they're not quite as messy as the hard variety.

Oh yes, they crumble and fall apart eventually. The toppings fall out too. That's why you have a fork on your plate. The taste overrules the messiness.

I had a coworker who assembled them, then took her fork and broke them up. She always said, I'm making nachos. LOL!

I won't eat ribs or chicken wings either. Sometimes I do soft tacos because they are less messy. But I have to be in the mood for a tortilla. Usually the soft tacos are for baked enchiladas.

Wow! At least they are upfront about the sugar! With those prices, we would pass.

I'm sorry to report that those dried out, hard, premade taco shells that can’t hold the ingredients together long enough to eat before they crack apart are not legit taco shells.

Get some nice fresh made corn tortillas and fry them up in some oil in a skillet- they won’t let you down.

It is hand eating so still a bit messy, if done right, from juicy tomatoes, fresh salsa and the squeeze of lime and, why not, a few pickled carrots and jalapeno.

Its ribs, wings, watermelon and peach time here so dinner is set out on a table under the big tree and everyone and everything is hosed down at the end. Yes, we are tacky that’s why I never comment on here.

All imo

Well I can assure you I belong to the Tacky Club too. LOL!

I love bacon rolls, ribs and chicken drumsticks ha so i must be in the club too! I had a really nice lunch today, not homemade, from a supermarket, but it was Moroccan Inspired Houmous, and i ate it with raw carrot. It was so delicious. And really cheap and healthyish!

Bacon rolls sound good. But I have never heard of them and after a quick google search it looks like there are a few variations. Which ones are the best?

It’s nothing even as fancy as that - really just a sandwich. A roll here is just a round bread bap, like a burger bun. Usually you’d have a bacon roll for breakfast, not dinner. Unless you’re tired and craving carbs and bad for you salty bacon :D

There are variations though, the big thing is the roll! Here in glasgow we have a bakery called Mortons which do the best crispy rolls and they are delivered fresh daily to most of the newsagents. You get other crispy rolls but they are are either too crispy or too doughy inside, or both! Some people prefer soft rolls, you get Morton soft rolls too but they are a no no for me! My absolute worst roll are those with flour on the outside! I don't know what it is but I don't like that flour on the outside! So my idea of heaven on a Saturday morning is two Mortons rolls, buttered, with grilled smoked bacon inside, wee bit of pepper, and one roll with ketchup and one with hp sauce!

Pictured is a Mortons roll, I prefer my bacon a bit more crispy than is in this pic.

HongKongPhooey and RusselSprout,

Thank you for your reply.

That is a fancy name for a bacon sandwich on a specialty bun. I have to admit the name caught my attention.

My DH and I have bacon rolls (bacon sandwiches) on toast or bread with tomato and mayonnais. We sometimes have them for lunch or an easy dinner.

Now I am craving bacon!

Thanks again ( as I walk to the refrigerator).
