Well, those emails are rolling in now...lots of pats on the backs, and comforting from politicians and LE. My favorite:

"I will never forget the look in Steven Avery’s eyes when he was being brought into the courthouse ...," Manitowoc County Board Chairman Jim Brey wrote in an email to sheriff's detectives. “I know a person cannot be convicted based on that, but I made up my mind that day. Avery was guilty."

Just more proof that they never stepped back because of a conflict of interest. How they were able to justify blocking the coroner and claim it was a conflict is just mind boggling.

How Making a Murderer's Steven Avery Could Be Freed Without a Trial

Defense attorney Kathleen Zellner, who took on Steven Avery's case in late-January, has said that her goal is not to secure her client a new trial — she wants to see him exonerated and his conviction vacated. "I told [Avery], 'I'm a sprinter. I'm not a long-distance runner,'" Zellner recently told Newsweek. She took on Avery's case shortly after he filed his appeal in January. There's no guarantee that a judge will agree to hear it, but introducing evidence that clearly absolves Avery of the murder of 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach would make a retrial unnecessary. Zellner has been involved in the exoneration and release of 17 falsely convicted men, and has recently been making confident suggestions on Twitter that she can prove Avery was falsely convicted.

Of course, none of these details link Hillegas, McKenna or Czech to Halbach's murder. But they do serve as three examples of men in her life that police appear not to have considered, let alone eliminated, as possible suspects in her murder. If Zellner can uncover evidence that points to another viable suspect in Halbach's murder, while at the same time debunking the evidence used against her client, it will be that much harder for prosecutors to pursue Avery in the event that the conviction is thrown out.​

Is anyone starting to have doubts about SA? I wholeheartedly believe he was framed but the police report that was filed with Deputy WB about the teen family member that said SA sexually assaulted and threatened her has me troubled. At first I believed it to be rumor but some of the statements she made corroborate with the statements JS said about him. Is it possible if he gets exonerated that he may be charged again with sexual assaults? I can see in 05 LE being painted in a corner. If SA was purported to be acting out because he's getting a big pay day, perhaps they wholeheartedly believed that he murdered TH. MTSO saw this as some kind of SA evil bubbling to the surface. A large pay out was only going to make his ego so much worse. Any thoughts on the teen’s alleged assaults?

Would the statute of limitations have run out by now?

I don't know what to think about the teens allegations. The fact that the parent filed it and it was while SA was expecting money bothers me. I do think statute of limitations would have run out. Who dropped the case? LE or mom or teen?

I do think the original complaint came from the mother, but the teen was interviewed later, by Wendy Baldwin in January 2006. I have a link to the report http://imgur.com/a/o1GwA but I am a bit concerned that there are pages missing (look at the page numbers). I have read some other things about this which I think 'taints' my view on it all.... so I will leave it at that ;-) I would like to see the whole report, with others statements about this.

I do think that after everything I have learned about SA.... he is probably a douchebag to the one's that are close to him. He seems to come off as an easy going guy to acquaintances, but to the one's that are close to him, he is probably an a$$.

Because he may or may not have done other things, does not mean that he did indeed kill TH. I do think that LE could easily 'justify' to themselves why 'helping' the evidence find SA's property was doing the right thing and putting him where he belongs if they had knowledge of any accusations, and lets face it... there were some LE that absolutely still believed he committed the assault on PB.

I had read, but have not confirmed the teen is EA's step-daughter and the mother is CA. As I understand, the mother came forward because she was uncomfortable with her daughter's relationship with SA. I also understood the daughter kept a diary, which was brought in to LE.

This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with with a framing (except, in the case that these rumors were true, and this news coverage was to steer public awareness away for some reason), but I have to say, Manitowoc sounds like an extremely scary place to live. Am not meaning to offend any locals who may be members here, but after becoming aware of the SA and BD cases, then coming across articles such as the one posted below, I can see why residents would be afraid to speak out against officials. The attached article has nothing to do with the Halbach case, but is from 2014 where apparently rumors were spreading around town that 3-7 murders had occurred one night, and it was enough of a big deal with residents that LE and the media had to officially deny any such activity happening. Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice would say! Very strange town, IMO. :doorhide:

SA and his family didn't live in Manitowoc, they lived in Mishicot---a totally separate town from Manitowoc. The only thing the 2 towns have in common is they are both in the same COUNTY (Manitowoc COUNTY). Its like saying St. Petersburg and Clearwater Florida are the same because they are in the same COUNTY.

This post didn't really have anything to do with SA and his family...which is why I started off saying "This post doesn't have anything to do with framing"...maybe I also should have stated nothing to do with SA or BD either, in particular. I was just reflecting, after now being aware of how MTSO and officials conduct "justice" there and then reading the article I linked, how I can understand residents possible fear of speaking out against possible injustices in their community. I was simply stating my opinion that Manitowoc County, in certain respects, seems like a very strange place to live, IMHO. I also am from a small town, and know how the local "rumor mill" can be, but I have never heard of a such an extreme rumor (3-7 murders in one night) running rampant enough in a town that police and the media have to actually refute it publicly in such a way. That seemed extremely strange to me. Again, this really doesn't have to do with the Halbach case, I just found it interesting .

Doubts? Not at all. He is Guilty of murdering TH and he was not framed. He was not charged over the other cases, so I presume he is innocent of those allegations.

When referring to the COUNTY I think you need to be specific--because the Town of Manitowoc is getting a lot of bad press (death/bomb threats) because of something that happened in a neighboring town, which I don't think is fair to people of Manitowoc. There are obviously a lot of unstable people out there and I think we should be careful with what we say--so we do not put innocent people at risk. I'm not sure where you are from---but there are a lot of nice people up there (some crazy people like we have in all areas) but the overall area is a nice place to live and work.:)

Noted on there being nice people there too, but I am not sure what I stated that would put any risk on anyone...in the initial post first I stated I did not mean any offense to residents, and in the following one I DID specify Manitowoc COUNTY. The rest of my statements were my personal observations and opinion. I do find many things that have been portrayed about that area as strange. An official member of LE apparently thinking it is acceptable to go on national television and make a statement about "it would be easier to KILL SA", without blinking an eye, like it was seriously considered at some point....the very unprofessional way that entire investigation and subsequent trials were conducted....and then reading articles such as the one I linked where rumors of mystery murders are so rampant that officials and the media have to make such a public point of denying them....I stand by my initial opinion. It DOES seem like it would be a strange to place to live, IMO, and that has nothing to do with internet strangers putting risk on them, but rather things that have went on in that very community, IMO. I simply stated that I could understand why residents may be afraid to speak out against injustices in that area, and do not get why I was somehow in the wrong for stating that.

But it was Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department that has been responsible for all things Avery, isn't it? The 1985 case..... all his other legal run in's.... they would have been responsible for the investigation if it wasn't for the conflict of interest, right? (and were still a HUGE part of it regardless of the conflict). Didn't the juror's come from Manitowoc? Although I get what you are saying about the Avery's not being from that town specifically, they are part of that County.... and the article that Jaiddie posted was talking about the town of Manitowoc specifically unless I missed something. I get what Jaiddie is saying..... there are so many "odd" things from that area, and with LE, I'm not sure I would want to live there either... or Calumet County if we are being honest LOL

That being said.... I think what we have read and seen with LE from that area is far too common in other area's (and countries) as well, they are just not in the spotlight like Manitowoc County is right now. JMO

It could be that the information wasn't released to anyone outside of LE. This statement makes me believe that is the case. Kratz said investigators have a significant amount of evidence in the case, though authorities released few details about the investigation Monday.

But what I'm more interested in is this statement. Some search warrants were issued for properties not connected to the Avery family, he said.
Like who and why haven't we heard anything more about these other search warrants? Where did they take place and who was involved?
