Former Defense Attorney,Todd Macaluso *Merged*

These things are all very true, but don't you think the fact that if it was an accident, that Casey would have reported it? I just can't think of any good reason to hide an accident and bury the child without reporting it.

KC was "PETRIFIED" of Cindy. If she had been choked by her mother, as she supposedly alleged, the evening before for being an unfit mother or stealing money, and threatened with Cindy taking custody of Caylee, I can see it is unlikely KC would have done much other than cover up.

Usually that was her mother's job but in this case, Cindy might be a tad more wrathful. KC has avoided every consequence of life and responsibility. What makes anyone think she would have stood up and taken the rap for a horrendous accident?

I was amazed to read Attorney Macaluso's excellent curriculum vitae.

With no disprepect meant towards this outstanding attorney, his expertise lies in defending large corporations, such as airlines, aircraft manufacturers, insurance companies, construction companies, etc. against consumer claims alleging accidental or negligent death or injury, product liability, medical malpractice, etc. It does not appear that he has had any experience in defending a young single mother against a state government's claim alleging that she deliberately murdered her innocent and defenseless two-year-old daughter and must face the death penalty if convicted.

Don't know if this is still going to happen....but saw on another site that today, the 23rd, is a hearing on TM Bar inquest....I emailed KB about it...maybe she'll get the scoop. I tried this morning to check it out in the San Diego papers, but obviously I'm not a very good "Sleuth"...LOL

Still doesn't explain 31 DAYS, partying, stealing, lying, etc. And if that were the case, then why blame it on a nanny? She's got no defense here.

Yeah, that too :)

I still don't understand why they are bringing him in. It's like musical attorney chairs or something.

Obviously they are going to have to find a larger courtroom for the trial. I just don't see how the EGO's of the defense team, their client, and client's family is going to leave room for anyone else to get into the courtroom's we've seen fo far.

If they do try to change the defense to it being a 'accident', will she still be liable for all of the lies to LE and other horrible things she's done?

Excellent! Is this a public hearing? Any WS'rs in San Diego, near the courthouse? :)
I think the hearing is actually in Los Angeles.

Since this hearing is closed to the public will we be able to find out any information on this hearing?

I wish I understood this program a little better. If TM is going through this how can he be allowed to practice in FL? Why would Judge Strickland allow him in?

http://www.prlog.org/10340164-shawne-merriman-issues-statement-on-case-closing.html

Mr. Merriman is represented by Todd E. Macaluso, Esq. of Macaluso & Associates in San Diego, California and Linda Kenney Baden Esq. in New York, New York.

Charges against Merriman were dropped. Guess Macaluso and LKB work well together. This is one in the 'win' column. Have they been partnered on any other cases?
IMO this is the weirdest combination ever. Are they just trying to capitalize on every "sensational" case out there? Want to make a bet who contacted who?

Your email to KB must have done something, MTG. WFTV just did a short piece on him during their noon newscast that said, paraphrasing "more trouble for Todd M, he WAS referred to the counseling program over the money issues."

Nothing on WFTV website about it yet, maybe someone can do some digging on California websites? I have to go run some errands and won't be back for a while... :)
