Mrs. Ford helped so many people at the Betty Ford Center.
She will be sadly missed. Sympathies to the family.

I really liked both of them. They were good, decent human beings who were well thought of by people of all political leanings.

RIP Mrs. Ford

Mrs. Ford was a greatly beloved lady here in the desert where she and President Ford lived and where she founded her clinic. Her death was not just front-page news on the first section of our paper, but of every section except sports.

By all accounts here, Mrs. Ford was loved not only for her charitable efforts (which continued until her death) but for her personal warmth and sense of humor.

One of the last people in American public life about whom almost all could agree that they liked.

RIP Betty Ford
She was a wonderful person -- she and her husband both were!

I feel great appreciation for her. She set a new standard for honestly and personal (but appropriate!) disclosure for a public figure. A wonderful standard bearer. I wonder if recovery would be where it is today without her?
