GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. - An anonymous donor has offered a $1 million reward for credible information leading to the pair of Judy Garland's sequined, ruby red slippers stolen from a museum in her Minnesota hometown.

"The slippers, worn by Garland in Oz, were stolen from the museum nearly a decade ago. Three other pairs still exist, including the one on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. Another pair was acquired in 2012 by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences for its planned museum.

The reward offer requires the exact location of the slippers and the perpetrator’s name, the AP reports. The shoes were insured for $1 million, but Kelsch said they could now be worth $2 or $3 million"

An anonymous donor in Arizona has offered a one million dollar reward for the return of Judy Garland's red shoes, worn in the Wizard of Oz.

The shoes were stolen 10 years ago, from a museum in Garland's hometown of Minnesota. The donor is said to be a huge fan of the movie.

I saw one pair of the ruby slippers in person in the 1980s in Tulsa. My friend cleaned for a gentleman and had clearance to go into his secured, environment controlled huge room of Wizard of Oz memorabilia. Amazing! Fantastic! Unforgettable!

A man has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of stealing a pair of ruby red slippers worn by Judy Garland in “The Wizard of Oz,” federal prosecutors in North Dakota say. The shoes were stolen in 2005 and recovered by a 2018 FBI sting operation, but no arrests were made at the time.
