The Social Defense Secretariat in the northeastern state of Pernambuco said on Sunday that forensic physicians from the Legal Medicine Institute, or IML, in Recife had identified 11 of the 49 bodies that are currently being examined in the municipal amphitheater.

Another body recovered from the Atlantic should arrive in Recife on Sunday on a navy corvette that is also transporting pieces of the aircraft that went down in stormy weather near Brazilian and Senegalese ocean territory with 228 people on board.

Twelve people were treated for bruises and neck and back pain after the plane landed at about 7:30 am (2330 GMT Sunday) in Perth, AAP news agency said.

The incident comes just 11 days after a cockpit blaze forced a Jetstar A330 to make an emergency landing, and also follows the Air France tragedy when 228 died in a mysterious accident involving the same model of plane.

Air France officials have contacted around 1,800 relatives of crash victims, which is proving to be challenging for them as they contact information for each passenger was not immediately available.

The bodies of the passengers were recovered six days after the incident, around 400 miles northeast of the Fernando de Noronha islands off Brazil's northern coast.

Its withdrawal indicates that the Brazilian Air Force, which is coordinating the search and recovery operation for the crashed Airbus, does not believe that any more debris concentrations remain to be discovered.

Military ships in the Atlantic have reportedly detected signals being emitted by the flight recorder from the Air France plane that crashed off the Brazilian coast on May 31st.

INTERPOL, the world's largest police organisation, is working jointly with the Brazilian authorities in identifying the 50 bodies that were recovered from the crash site in Atlantic Ocean.

The federal agency said Thursday that it is investigating an incident on a Northwest Airbus A-330 flying between Hong Kong and Tokyo on Tuesday. The aircraft landed safely in Tokyo.

In a possibly similar incident, a TAM Airlines flight between Miami and Sao Paulo, Brazil, experienced a loss of primary speed and altitude information while in cruise flight. The flight crew used backup instruments and primary data was restored in about 5 minutes, a NTSB news release said.

These black boxes in aircrafts include the flight data recorder and cockpit recorder. If found, the tapes may provide more answers to what caused the crash. However, the batteries may only last 30 days. It’s been 25 days.
