Circumstances of Disappearance
Chantal was last seen running out of her home in Villefargeau, close to Auxerre, France in April 1977. She lived in a foster home there.

Her disappearance has been linked to the disappearances of six other young women from the Auxerre area; Madelaine Dejust, Bernadette Lemoine, Francoise Lemoine, Christine Marlot, Martine Renault and Jacqueline Weis. They all had slight learning difficulties and attended the same special education center in Auxerre.

The city's social services failed to connect them in reports to the police, apparently concluding that they had run away.
They are suspected to be victims of a serial killer.
