Such a wild and horrible case. Of course we are all absolutely disgusted what he did to his wife over so many years. (how will she recover??) But he's also suspected of rape/murder. What a monster!

I am not surprised that he reports he was raped as a child, this kind of compulsive sexual acting out, extreme deviance and need for control, as well as reversing victim and victimizer, is one way that that trauma, untreated, may manifest. MOOO. Generational trauma carried forward, many woman and children harmed by him, may they find healing.

The 20 year max sentence is appalling! Do they not have LWOP?! IMO, they each deserve LWOP, but especially the husband! I read some of the comments in the DM article. Several people wrote that they hoped each alleged racist received a severe sentence, like 10 years! (As if that's a severe sentence.) AMOO

Each of those men charged is looking at 20 years.

France, IME, is very strict for prescriptions. I wonder how Dominique could get the drugs via prescription without his wife being medically assessed over this time?
A Canadian news report on the first page of this thread says that Gisele suffered 4 STIs during this time. Am looking for confirmation. If true, surely her doctor would have doubts about a monogamous lady contracting these infections and, depending on the type of infection, recommend that husband should be treated also?

Perhaps the prescription was in his name? She was seeing the doctor regularly for symptoms that were consistent with drugging, if it was in her name, would have put 2 & 2 together. So I assume he got it prescribed for him and they had separate doctors.
Do you have a source for ypur second sentence that the victim was seeing doctor?
