"How does chemical castration work?

Step-by-step guide to the process.

The process aims
to drastically reduce an offender's sex drive and interest in sexual behaviour.

And previous studies have shown
that it significantly reduces the risk of sex criminals re-offending."

Is it just me or did this case prompt other women to think : "Are there 51 men in a 50-mile radius around me willing to rape me?" I used to take comfort in the thought that the high rape stats are due to repeat offenders. One man raping many women, not many men raping women. Honestly, now I'm not so sure.

''A man in Europe is now being investigated by police following W5’s infiltration of a global online network of men who secretly drug, rape, film and share the content of their wives and intimate partners.

This follows the arrest of a Hamilton, Ont. man on May 16. After being alerted by W5 of potential crimes taking place, Hamilton police arrested 36-year-old Bryan Hayward. He was subsequently charged with sexual assault; assault with a weapon; administering a noxious substance; distribution of intimate images; and voyeurism, among other charges.''

rbbm
''The allegations against Hayward bear a striking resemblance to crimes committed against Gisele Pelicot in Avignon, France.

Pelicot’s husband, Dominique, was sentenced to 20 years in prison last December for repeatedly drugging and raping his wife for nearly a decade. Over the course of that time, he also invited dozens of other men into their home to rape her while she was unconscious. Fifty other men were found guilty of rape, attempted rape or sexual assault.

The Pelicot case was reported as an anomaly, but the ongoing W5 investigation shows this type of abuse being committed by a network of men spanning the globe who share each other’s content and teach one another where to purchase knockout drugs, how to make the drugs themselves and how to get away with rape.

W5’s full documentary “Sleeping with the Enemy” that exposes a Canadian and alleged rapists around the world airs May 31 at 9 p.m. on CTV''

The very safest place Pelicot can be is in jail, for his own sake. He would not be safe anywhere close to me or my family.

Caroline Darian, the daughter of serial rape victim Gisèle Pelicot, says she thinks her mother would “die” if she acknowledged that her daughter was also a potential victim of Dominique Pelicot.

Speaking at Hay Festival, the activist and author claimed that the denial of her mother, whom she no longer talks to, was an act of self-protection.

"No longer talks to"???

:(

This tragedy has many repercussions.

Yes Dotta, and neither mother nor daughter are to blame.

Wasn't he suspected of murdering someone years ago? Is anything happening with that?

"Pelicot mass rape case:

French court to hear appeal of only one convicted man.

Only one of the 51 men convicted of the mass rape of Gisèle Pelicot,
will have their appeal heard by a French appeals court,
a judicial source said.

Seventeen defendants initially lodged an appeal.

Sixteen of them have withdrawn their appeals over the last months.

This means that the appeals trial that gets underway in the southern city of Nimes this autumn
will only examine the case of Husamettin D., 44,
sentenced to nine years in prison.

He will only contest the length of his sentence for rape and not his guilt."

"Gisèle Pelicot

settles claim for invasion of privacy against French magazine.

1751294655460.webp

'Paris Match'
agrees to pay €40,000 to two charities
after publishing photos of Pelicot.

The weekly magazine
had published seven pictures of Gisele Pelicot accompanied by a man described as her companion
walking in the streets in her new home town.

At the time,
her lawyers said it was 'shocking' and 'disappointing'
that Paris Match would secretly take pictures of Gisele Pelicot,
who had been secretly filmed by her ex-husband during more than 200 rapes from 2011 to 2020.

One of the lawyers,
Antoine Camus, accused 'Paris Match' of
'having learned nothing'
from the four-month rape trial last year."

"Gisele Pelicot's lawyer
Emilie Sudre said that
'an amicable settlement' had been reached between Gisele Pelicot and the weekly magazine Paris Match.

Sudre said Gisele Pelicot had not requested any personal compensation in the settlement.

Her client instead agreed that the magazine should
'pay €40,000 to two associations supporting victims of violence,
including within families',
especially women and children.

The two organisations fund a women's shelter and a centre which helps survivors recover
– the latter based in the town of Mazan where much of the abuse Gisele Pelicot suffered took place.

Christophe Bigot, a lawyer for Paris Match,
said the magazine was
'delighted with the solution,
which would help victims of violence'."

So well-deserved, and a shining beacon of light for all! (I was going to say "for all women", but that would be unjust to all the good men there are in the world, and there are many.)

Such class, dignity, courage and selflessness. She deserves anything good that life brings her way.

This case makes me so emotional every time I come back to it. Gisele absolutely deserves the Legion of Honour.

"Gisele Pelicot rape trial is now a play,

showing at the French city

where she spoke the truth and shocked the world.

1754339656264.webp

The trial has been turned into a gut-wrenching stage play,
which will be staged in Avignon,
the very French city where Pelicot spoke the truth about French patriarchy and rape culture.

The play titled The Pelicot Trial: Tribute to Gisèle Pelicot,
is directed by Swiss theatre maverick Milo Rau
and had its debut in Vienna in June.

The play,
set inside a 14th-century Carmelite cloister,
lasts three hours and uses real transcripts from the trial
as well as police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports.

More than 50 performers will take part.

'The courtroom was already theatre.
So now we turn the theatre into a courtroom',

said director Rau about the play,
which will also be livestreamed in cinemas and online to meet surging public interest."

Wow!

👏
