GUILTY France - Fiona Chafoulais, 5, Clermont-Ferrand, 12 May 2013 *Arrest*

  • #441
Summary of article at link

The prosecutor has confirmed that an anonymous man has found a shovel by Lake Aydat and handed it in. The man - a father and security guard - is part of a local group who have been meeting every Sunday to search for Fiona and intend to continue until she is found.

Investigators have also stressed that the search for Fiona is still a major concern. They have been conducting house-to-house enquiries and aerial searches are also planned. However, they have expanded the scope of it and are no longer concentrating on the lake. From an examination of Cecile's statements where she clearly identifies a dairy near Puy de Dome, police are now concentrating their search efforts within a 15-20 minute drive of that.

'We are not resigned to giving up the search,' police said.

A local involved with the search for Fiona from the beginning, Stephane Pozo, says, 'I will fight to the end to find Fiona.'

*I hoped the local people would go out looking for little Fiona, and that's exactly what they have done. Wonderful people. I hope they search other areas as the police are doing too, because I don't really trust what Cecile and Berkhane have said about Fiona's location - gosh only knows how a person confuses a lake with a dairy? I'll have to try and find it on a map.

Here is a map I've labelled showing

Park near apartment in Clermont Ferrand where Cecile said she originally lost Fiona

Lake Aydat where Cecile and Berkhane said they buried Fiona and where police have carried out all their searches so far

Area of Puy de Dome where police are now searching, because Cecile in her statements mentioned driving past a dairy.

*I can't make sense of this. The lake and Puy de Dome are in completely opposite directions and C and B both said they buried Fiona near the lake. Are police just completely dismissing that story now? I don't think Cecile has given them more info - the latest reports say she still has 'partial amnesia'. Mmmmmmm.

Thanks for the great map zwieb!
By the looks of things the search has spread out considerably!
Pity that Cecile has 'partial amnesia' :dramaqueen:

And wonderful news that people are searching every weekend for little Fi!
And they found a shovel? Lets hope they can get soil samples from it (possibly) or ever Berkanes prints or DNA. I still dont think he 'found' a shovel - more like bought one or 'borrowed' one - iykwim.
Thankyou to the people of France for searching, and to the Police for keeping the investigation going.
:loveyou:

Come home Little Fi - Nice people are looking for you - they will find you.

"I am not a monster. I am not a killer of kids'

Berkane Mahklouf as he was sentenced to jail for one year.

(Keep calm everyone. That wasn't for Fiona's death, it was for hitting and making death threats against guards). He's got his wish to be transferred to another prison, which apparently suits the guards in his old prison as much as it suits him.

Scroll down at the link, it's the first in a whole list of stories about Fiona's case. There is also a new one about the prison transfer there. Googly translated.

Annoyingly, I cannot link direct to the right page. At the link (takes you to an old story about Nicholas) scroll to the bottom and clink on the blue link that says 'disappearance of Fiona'. It's the first story in the list of stories there.

Considering he punched two guards hard enough to leave at least one with bloody injuries, and had to be restrained by six guards in total, and threatened to kill them......I think Berkhane got quite a light sentence myself.

Hopefully some kind fathers in the prison will get Fi's whereabouts out of this trashy monster .

At a press conference Monday afternoon, the biological father of Fiona and Eva, Nicolas Chafoulais, accompanied by his lawyer Claude Savary has agreed to speak. Its two priorities: to find the body of Fiona and regain custody of Eva
_____________

As for Berkane saying he's 'Not a Monster'... they should have given him another year for telling such a big lie!

@SCHMAE
Hopefully some kind fathers in the prison will get Fi's whereabouts out of this trashy monster .
Lets hope so!

My opinion is Cecile and Berkane know where little Fi is.

Yes. I think they know where she is and they know that what happened to her will get them long, long prison sentences if she's ever found. I don't think they will ever reveal where she is, and I hate to think what Fiona suffered before she died.

Little Fiona has the kindness of strangers to help her though. I hope the people searching the woods for her find her soon. I wish them all the good luck in the world.

Here he is. Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that a peace sign he's making above Fiona and her little sister's heads?

Not the best photo - I do remember seeing this at some time - and I could never make out what was actually happening. Ironic when you see something like this in a photo.
Poor little Fi - not found yet, but not forgotten.

It is tragic that little Fiona Chafoulais has not been found by Christmas, 2013.

Her mother and stepfather say they buried her, and she is dead.

But they have not helped bring her home. The shame they carry will travel with them into the new year, and forever, until Fiona is found.

Fiona Chafoulais must come home.

I've no idea what the bunny ears are.

When I lived in France, I did notice that certain young men from ethnic minorities like Algeria etc, were completely obsessed by the US, and its gang culture. Any old rubbish clothing could be sold as long as it was from 'LA', for example, even when it was badly made, and badly spelt and obviously from China.

In my opinion, Fiona's stepdad was one of these people. How dreadful to think Cecile made him responsible for two little girls though.....:(

Merry Christmas little FI wherever you are.

It seems that in December Cecile was trying to get some of the charges against her dropped.

L'affaire Fiona devant la cour d'appel de Riom

Fiona case returns to the front of the judicial stage, Tuesday. Of Cécile Bourgeon lawyer, Gilles-Jean Portejoie, pleaded today behind closed doors and without the main complainant, the Court of appeal of Riom (-de-Dôme), to request cancellation of the residual review implementation of its client for "aggravated deadly blows". "

Development advisement at January 14

During previous confrontations, the two protagonists in the case, currently in prison, is are returned responsibility for the death of the girl and especially were unable to tell investigators what they had done the body of Fiona.
Monday morning, Cécile Bourgeon again was heard by the examining magistrate of Clermont-Ferrand. It has detailed his curriculum vitae, returning for four hours on its journey, its associates, its meetings, his childhood before be renewed in Lyon-Corbas (Rhône) prison where she imprisoned. The young woman is suspected to be responsible for the death of her 5-year-old daughter as his companion.
The decision of the Court of appeal was made under advisement at January 14, 2014.

I think the translation needs some clarification - but I am assuming the charges she was trying to have revoked still stand and were not dropped.
