Joseph Murphy has been missing in Paris

A "genuine, hard-working dad" is missing in Paris.

Joseph Murphy, from Huyton, was last seen at around 7pm yesterday at the Liverpool FC fan park. The 35-year-old was in Paris ahead of LFC's Champions League final v Real Madrid with a friend and his brother-in-law.

Joseph's wife Danielle Murphy told the ECHO he's a "genuine, hardworking dad to two little boys" and desperately wants her husband to make contact. Joseph's brother-in-law tweeted this morning that everyone was "starting to get worried now" especially following the disturbing scenes outside the Stade de France last night.

The tweet said: "Any Reds still in Paris...haven't seen my brother-in-law since seven last night. Starting to get worried now with how much of a s**thole this place is and how bad the police are."

The family of a Liverpool fan who went missing for 11 hours after being caught up in the chaotic scenes before the Champions League final has backed calls for an investigation into the turmoil.

Joseph Murphy was found ‘shaken up’ but otherwise safe and well yesterday evening after his panicked relatives lost contact with him as French police used tear gas and pepper spray on crowds gathering ahead of the delayed match near Paris.

The 35-year-old, from Huyton, became ‘lost and disorientated’ before he was taken by a French couple to a police station where he was reconnected with his wife and her brother.
