Nordahl Lelandais in April 2001, he joined the 132nd dog battalion of Suippes (Marne). He had enlisted for five years, he only lasted four, and was struck off in April 2005. Re another article says: He will have had time to obtain a basic certificate of dog handler, to perform two missions of four month was stationed in Suippes (Marne), in the 132nd Army Dog Battalion, between 2002 and 2007.

The ex-military is "noticed" in October 2008, with two accomplices, engaging in a battle of eggs and fruits in a supermarket, by burning tricolor flags, and a restaurant in Paladru (Isère). He will be sentenced to one year in prison, but received a sentence adjustment. Under an electronic bracelet starting April 2009. He was released on parole in October 2010. Wondering "what" day he was released, as Adrien Fiorello was killed; was he anxious to kill again on the 6th?

Estelle Mouzin, 9, disappeared on 9 January 2003 in Guermantes (Seine-et-Marne), around 6 pm between her house and her school. Nordahl Lelandais was 19 years old, he was at the military camp of Suippes (Marne), 150 kilometers away but was sent on a mission to the East at the time of the disappearance. In the Estelle Mouzin case, it was enough for the investigators to question the army to learn that he was on a mission in Guyana at the time of the girl's disappearance in 2003 in Seine-et-Marne. Excluded: File is closed.

Nordahl started his dog training business in Chambéry in February 2010, business can be placed near the Chambéry train station starting in 2010.
According to Google Maps, it is only 550 meters away: a 7 minute walk, or a 3 minute drive. The Chambéry train station was said to be the last location where Adrien Fiorello's phone pinged. The head office of this company was located 317 rue Nicolas Parent - 73000 Chambery

In 2010, Nordahl Lalandais:
was in prison from .... to ... ?
was somewhere with an ankle monitor from ... to .... ?
registered the start of his dog training company in Chambéry in February
became depressed and passed a while in the psychiatric hospital in Chambéry OR
was an out-patient from ... to ... ?

Nicolas Suppo, 30 years old, disappeared on 15 September 2010 near Echirolles. He disappeared during his lunch break. His coworkers saw him at work in the morning. Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. Now on list of: possible suspect; verification under way.

Adrien Fiorello, a 22-year-old student who disappeared on 6 October 2010 in Firminy (Loire) while he was on his way to the university in Chambéry (Savoie). The young man's cell phone last pinged in Chambéry (train station) at 5:37 p.m. on October 6, 2010. We don't know if it was ever physically located. Chambéry is where Nordahl Lelandais had a dog breeding business at that time. Possible suspect, verification under way.

Nelly Balmain was 29 when she leaves the family home of Saint-Jean-en-Royans (Drôme) on a scooter, without reappearing. She disappears on 8 August 2011. Earlier: Verification in progress; request from family to investigate.

Jean-Christophe Morin, 23, disappeared on 9-10 September 2011 during an electro party at Tamié Fort in Albertville (Savoie). Possible suspect; verification under way.

Kévin Fauvel, 27, on the night of 1-2 April 2012, left the community of Jansiac, located in Châteauneuf-Miravail, in the Jabron Valley. Since then, his family has no news.

Malik Boutvillain, 32, disappeared on 6 May 2012 in Echirolles (Isère). He was out jogging. Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. New on list of: possible suspect; verification under way.

Hugo Raffi, 28 years old missing from Albertville since 15 June 2012.

Ahmed Hamadou, 45, disappeared in 7 - 8 September 2012 at Fort Tamié (Savoie). Possible suspect; verification under way.

Lucie Roux, 43, disappears on 16 September 2012 while residing in the psychiatric centre in Bassens in Chambéry (Savoie). Request from family to investigate.

Stéphane Chemin, 33 years old, who suffers from schizophrenia, disappeared on 24 September 2012 in Bourg-d' Oisans region (Isère). Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. New on List of: possible suspect; verification under way.

Florent Bonnet, 37 years old, who disappeared on 18 January 2014 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie). He was on a motorcycle and his two-wheeler was found near the Siaix tunnel, with a helmet on it. Probably not a victim of NL. Request from family to investigate.

Eve Monteil, 49 years old, on 25 August 2014, in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain).

Lucas Tronche, then 15 years old, had disappeared on 18 March 2015, at 5:15 p. m., when he was on his way to a bus stop in the commune of Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Possible suspect; verification under way.

Nordine Seghiri, 49, disappeared on 10 July 2015 from a hospital in Chambéry (Savoie). Request from family to investigate.

Anne-Charlotte Poncin, 30 years old, disappeared on 5 January 2016 in Ambérieu-en-Bugey (Ain). In the morning, she leaves her home to go downtown for work. Request from family to investigate

Antoine Zoia, 16-year-old teenager has not been found since 1 March 2016. He disappeared in Clarensac, near Nîmes, also in the Gard, during a stroll during which he had to go to a tobacco store. Possible suspect; verification under way.

Ilhan Sahingoz, 39 years old missing from Albertville since 11 April 2016.

Olivier Charpe, 59, never returned from a mountain bike ride on 12 August 2016 in Saint-Romans (Isère).

Georgette Amat Chantoux (Georgette Bonnet), 79 years old, residing in Lumbin. She was reported missing in October 2016, but her phone had not been active since 9 September 2016. Georgette lived alone and had little contact with her family. According to the neighbours, she used go to the mountains to pick blueberries (not mushrooms) in the Belledonne Massif. Her car was found there, in a parking lot. It had been there for weeks. "In the Bonnet case, the only
reason for the reopening of the investigation is the geographical proximity (a distance of about 15 kilometers) between the area of [her] ??disappearance and the places of discovery of Arthur Noyer's bones, in Montmélian, of which Nordahl Lelandais is suspected of murder."
Earlier: Probably not suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. Now on list of: possible suspect; verification under way.

Éric Foray, 47, disappeared on 16 September 2016, shortly after noon, after he had recently done some shopping in Chatuzange-le-Goubet (Drôme). Request from family to investigate.

Arthur Noyer, 23 years old, disappeared in 11-12 April 2017 in Chambéry. The night of the young soldier's disappearance, the mobile phones of Lelandais and the corporal triggered several relays in the Chambéry region at the same time. This supports the thesis that both men were travelling in the same car, namely the Audi A3 from Lelandais. The vehicle was filmed by a video surveillance camera in Chambéry. Arthur Noyer disappeared as he hitchhiked around 4 a. m. to get back to his barracks after a night spent in a disco. The investigators said he got into Nordahl Lelandeis' car. Indicted for this murder.

Adrien Mourialmé, 24 years old, disappeared in 5 July 2017 on the shores of Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The young man disappeared without taking his belongings. His bank account and phone have not been active since July 4th. He left most of his belongings at the hotel where he was working as a cook in Talloires-Montmin (Haute-Savoie), and vanished. Possible suspect; verification under way.

Maëlys De Araujo, 9 years old, disappeared at Pont-de-Beauvoisin in 27 August 2017. Indicted for this murder; 2/14/18 confessed to killing Maëlys "accidentally".

Thanks for this list. I've changed to color coding in my list to match what you have just posted. What I don't have on my list are these two people. Any more information on "when" and "where". I personally haven't seen those names mentioned in previous posts, or I did and it didn't register in my old brain! LOL!

Verifications under way:
Coralie Moussu

and

Requests of the families of the missing:
Rachid Rameche

Should I add this to the description under his name??

and the next post - my revised list!

BBM

Hi Niner, there is hardly any info about Rachid Rameche, not even his age or the exact date when he went missing. The same description is repated a few times:

Rachid Rameche, disparu en juin 2009, à Bassens (Savoie) alors qu'il séjournait dans un établissement psychiatrique.

Rachid Rameche, disappeared in June 2009, in Bassens (Savoie) while he was in a psychiatric institution.

He might have been in the same institution as Lucie Roux, in Bassens.

As for Ahmed Hamadou - these were my personal musings. In his case, it seems to me that at least half of the story is missing. Two men hit the bars during a night out together, they disappear from the same parking lot, one turns up after two weeks and everybody seems relieved that at least one is back, yet the car that both men travelled in remains missing ~ and no explanations are given. Perhaps everything is obvious once you know the whole story, but that story is nowhere to be found.

Ahmed Hamadou was never located in the area, nor was Jean-Christophe Morin who disappeared from the same festival one year earlier. IMHO that would imply the presence of someone's car. But if that is so and if it is the same car or the same driver in both cases remains totally unclear.

IMHO you'd better wait for a MSM source with the whole story.

In Adrien Fiorello's case, I think it's important to add that he was supposed to be in Saint-Étienne, not Chambéry, the day he vanished. Saint-Étienne is where he went to university classes. How his phone ended up in Chambéry is still a mystery. The two cities are about 150 kilometers apart.

According to this 2012 article Yan and Ahmed (who knew each other since one week) arrived together in the car at 4am, then Yan got into two fights with the festival security, lost his cell phone and broke his glasses. He left quite hurriedly alone in his car, leaving Ahmed behind (4 witnesses confirm this). He arrived at a friend's place at 6am, telling him he went to the gendarmerie (for his cell phone?). They tried to call Ahmed but could not reach him. Then Yan left and disappeared for 15 days.

"Post-confessional depression" after months of resistance is common. NL was suffering from tremors, fits of sweat, anguish, and evoking (mentioning?) his mother; his lawyer advised him to accept "voluntary hospitalization." All of his psychological barriers have collapsed [...]

The next judicial appointment Thursday in Grenoble seems very hypothetical for now. Having accepted a free placement (voluntary hospitalization), Nordahl Lelandais can certainly ask to return to the penitentiary of Saint-Quentin whenever he wants. But it is not excluded that the judges will hear him at the hospital."

"The events related to the death of little Maëlys, killed by Nordahl Lelandais on August 27, 2017, should be clarified soon. All the bones and clothes of the 8-year-old child were found Thursday, February 15, after several hours of searching, at the bottom of a ravine in Saint-Franc (Savoie). There were two parts to the recovery: a small part of the body had been separated from the rest and dispersed, probably because of a landslide related to the state of the waterlogged ground. Experts from the Criminal Investigation Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN), who will continue the investigation, have put everything under protection.

This first step is made necessary by the humid environment in which the body of the young victim rested for nearly six months. "Before we can collect DNA and examine biological traces," says Colonel Patrick Touron, director of the IRCGN, "we need to secure everything that has been collected." Then we will perhaps be able to determine how Maëlys died. Nordahl Lelandais, in his statements made February 14 before the investigating judges in Grenoble (Isère), spoke of an "accident," without further details. Using their technical expertise, the investigators will be able to detect signs of possible violence. It is only at the end of this meticulous work that they will be able to return the body to the family."

"This is not possible": the brother of Nordahl Lelandais remains convinced of his innocence

His brother, Sven, has left the region of Pont-de-Beauvoisin since media coverage of the affair, in order to escape from anonymous threats. He is now working at a ski resort, in a restaurant.

He learned about his brother's confessions through the media, but still finds it hard to believe: "It's not possible," he tells us. That's why in April, I intend to go see him to ask exactly what happened, point by point, and get the whole truth [...]" I spoke to him twice before coming to work here, that was in November and I could not detect anything. He was closed, very closed," adds Sven.

Well, that is what he says. Let's hope he did not need these glasses for driving. And that he wasn't drunk when he presented himself at the Gendarmerie. The Gendarmerie can no doubt confirm his story. In Albertville, they are open 24 / 7.

Distance from Col de Tamié to Chambéry is 55 kms, or 45 mins by car.
Col de Tamié to Faverges first is 15 minutes, then to Chambéry via Albertville would be 1 hour 15 minutes. (On the map, Fort Tamié looks as if it is on the outskirts of Albertville, so why go to Faverges first?)
If that is what happened, and someone managed to check the story.

The security at the festival sounds pretty rough to say the least. Breaking someone's glasses is no mean thing. And if the phone got lost in a fight, why wasn't it found later, at daylight, in the parking lot? Or was it found? Any news about that phone? (I haven't read it.)

IMHO another scenario is that he might have waited for Ahmed downhill, broke his glasses in a different fight and conveniently lost his phone. Two weeks incommunicado would have allowed him ample time to organized.
Not saying that this is what happened, but I would appreciate a report as to why he is not a person of interest and why Nordahl Lelandais would be the better option.

From the same report:

http://www.ledauphine.com/savoie/20...e-sont-rendus-sur-les-lieux-de-la-disparition

For want of news, Julien, Ahmed's childhood friend, has been trying to collect testimonies over the past three weeks. Four of them match, the people remembering perfectly Yan's AX [ car ], his actions and gestures, and his hasty departure from Tamié, without Ahmed as a passenger. "After leaving my house around midnight, they made the rounds of bars in Chambéry, before arriving in Tamié around 4am. Two altercations are said to have taken place with the security service who, given Yan's attitude, did not allow them access to the festival site. Yan says he got his glasses broken, lost his cell phone." At that time, at the pass and not at the fort, the two men (who had known each other for a week) would have been separated.

Returning to Julien's home in Chambéry at 6 a. m.,"Yan was not in his normal state. He claimed to have left Tamié via Faverges, passed through the Albertville police station and contacted the gendarmerie. We called Ahmed on his cell phone, it was already on the answering machine. Then Yan disappeared for 16 days, before Julien managed to find his new phone number, asking him to report to the Chambéry police station. What he did Tuesday night. "He put a picture of Ahmed on his Facebook. It shocked the family. He doesn't seem to be aware of the situation," Ahlem says.

NORDAHL IS A MADMAN WHO HAS BEEN HIDING OUT FOR YEARS

Le Parisien
http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-dive...che-pendant-des-annees-19-02-2018-7567563.php

Philippe*, a childhood friend of Nordahl Lelandais, is angry. For months, he had defended him and did not believe in his involvement in the death of Maëlys.

Last September, while heavy suspicions were already hovering over Nordahl Lelandais, who was indicted at the time for "kidnapping" following the disappearance of Maëlys, Philippe* did not hesitate to defend his friend Nordahl, whom he has known since adolescence: "He is not capable of such a thing. I don't believe it, it's not Nordahl. He couldn't hurt a child."

Today, Philippe is confronted with the terrible reality. The remains of Maëlys have been found on the indications of Lelandais. And his friend has confessed. It is the first time since the discovery of Maëlys' body that a close friend of Nordhal Lelandais expresses himself. To express his indignation. "All his friends are shocked and angry with him. Next thing you know, he's a little girl killer, actually. You can imagine the monster he must be. We're all disgusted, flabbergasted. It upsets everyone," Philippe confides. "I feel very sorry for Maëlys' parents. He has to pay for what he did. He must be crazy, he must be crazy. Yeah, that's right, I think he's a madman who's been hiding out for years. My guess is he has a psychiatric problem, a vice. He must be sick. He must have known he had a problem, but he never confided in anyone. I think her mom must be wondering why her son didn't tell her, how she could have missed it."

"Nordahl has always melted into the mass. He had friends, girlfriends, he attended parties. For me, he was completely normal. And unsuspecting." Concerning Maëlys, Philippe does not believe for a moment in the thesis of an "involuntary" death advanced by Nordahl Lelandais. "At the wedding in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, he took someone fragile, small. I don't know what crap he's going to tell now to explain Maëlys' death, but that little girl didn't ride with him by accident. And also... Nordahl thought about turning off his cell phone. He has foresight. And if he's planning ahead, he's organized. And he knows what he's doing. He dumped the little girl, went back to the wedding. He did it coldly. I can only imagine the monster he must be. Knowing that he was using drugs, did drugs also play a role in this story? I'm just wondering."

And when Philippe is asked if he thinks that his childhood friend is also involved in the assassination of Corporal Arthur Noyer whose remains have been found near Montmélian (Savoie), the answer comes out loud and clear: "I think so, yes. You don't wake up one morning thinking,"Hey, I'm gonna kill a kid today." I think he is someone who's already killed. He's not working on a try-out. There have been others. Chances are he killed several people. I have seen that eleven families whose loved ones have disappeared in the region have recently reunited. They are right. You have to get to the bottom of it now. To find out if there are any other victims."

Philip can't help but think of those nights spent with Nordahl." When we were young, he came to sleep at home several times. I had a double bed in my room. So we slept in the same bed. Also in the house were my parents, my little sister, my two little brothers. I think to myself today: and what if he wanted to kill... In retrospect, it's scary. Today, as a friend of Nordahl's, I feel like I've been abused, naive."

How does Philippe feel about the recent hospitalization of Lelandais after his confession in the Maëlys case? "For me, he's trying to protect himself. For six months, he was not in the hospital and had no anxiety attacks. Even though he knew what he had done. It's all comedy."

Another friend of Nordahl wrote on his Facebook page: "How could you do this to a child? I don't have any words. I hope one thing and that is that you will be made to suffer as much as this poor little girl and her whole family. How could I have been friends with a monster like you?"

Nordahl Lelandais left the hospital where he had been admitted "as a precaution" on Friday evening, it was reported by a source close to the file.

According to our information, Nordahl Lelandais, who confessed last Wednesday to killing little Maëlys, has returned to classic detention, after a doctor's recommendation.

He was placed in a specially equipped hospital unit (UHSA) at his request. No suicidal risk was recorded, but the inmate suffered from anxiety.

THE TWO FAMILIES FEAR A POSSIBLE SUICIDE OF NORDAHL LELANDAIS

Le Dauphine.com
http://www.ledauphine.com/savoie/20...parents-de-maelys-ecrivent-a-la-famille-noyer

The message posted on Sunday on the social networks by Cécile and Didier Noyer, the parents of Arthur Noyer whose suspected murderer is Nordahl Lelandais, was shared hundreds of times and moved the whole of France.

Cécile Noyer appealed to the former soldier: "Would you have lost your almighty power in the face of the evidence that is overwhelming you? ... If you are the murderer of our son Arthur, may his face haunt your days and nights forever to eternity."
Last week, after Lelandais confessed to killing little Maëlys, Jennifer de Araujo, her mother, had published a similar message in which she promised him: "Maëlys will haunt you night and day in your prison until you die and go to hell."

Yesterday Maëlys' parents responded to Corporal Noyer's parents' message. They fear like them that Nordahl Lelandais is trying to end his life. Cécile Noyer asked the hospital staff to keep a close eye on him. Jennifer, Maëlys' mother commented:"You are right, they have to keep an eye on him because he still has a lot of answers to give us. Truth for all. Let's all stick together. Joachim, Maëlys' father, wrote to her. "May our two families remain united for the same cause: the truth."
This is the first time that both families have had a public exchange about their mutual grief.

Nordahl Lelandais remains in hospital, in a closely guarded unit

It has been four days since Nordahl Lelandais has been kept under surveillance at the mental health centre for detainees at the Vinatier hospital in Bron. This hospitalization in the Lyon area was done "at his request", through Alain Jakubowicz, his lawyer, because he "felt fragile" and had sleep disorders, according to Alain Chevalier, regional secretary UFAP-UNSA Justice.

Nordahl Lelandais is precisely in a specially equipped hospital unit (UHSA), a hospital unit managed both by doctors for the monitoring of treatment and care, and by prison wardens who manage entry and exit. This unit has about 60 beds for the full-time care of inmates. The rooms of these are locked at night.

While some reports announced on Monday that Nordahl Lelandeis would return to prison, it is not clear when he will exactly return to his cell in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier.

INTERVIEW WITH CÉCILE AND DIDIER NOYER, PARENTS OF ARTHUR

France Info
https://www.francetvinfo.fr/faits-d...parents-du-caporal-noyer-parlent_2619126.html

Why and how was Corporal Arthur Noyer murdered? In this case, only one suspect, Nordahl Lelandais, was indicted last December. His recent confession in the Maëlys case prompted Arthur Noyer's parents to express themselves.
"He's gonna have to explain himself anyway. Let him explain. And it better be good between what's in the file and what he's going to say," Cécile Noyer says. In Didier Noyer's opinion, "He is playing a game. He manipulates everyone, no one is fooled."

The 23-year-old corporal disappeared last April, after an evening in downtown Chambéry. Five months later, his body was found in a forest by a walker. The investigation took a new turn, and Nordahl Lelandais, who is believed to have crossed paths with him, was indicted for his murder. Today, Arthur Noyer's parents fear that he will end his life. "They really have to watch him," Cécile Noyer worries.

NORDAHL LELANDAIS WILL BE HEARD COMING THURSDAY 22 FEBRUARY IN GRENOBLE

France Info
https://france3-regions.francetvinf...rait-etre-entendu-jeudi-grenoble-1427909.html

Coming Thursday 22 February, Nordahl Lelandais, is due to be transferred to Grenoble for a hearing.
After confessing on February 14 that he had "accidentally" killed little Maëlys, he was hospitalized on February 16 at the psychiatric hospital of Le Vinatier near Lyon.

He is hospitalized in a specially equipped hospital unit (UHSA) of the Lyon-Corbas prison, located in the psychiatric hospital of Le Vinatier, near Lyon. "Following his confession, a change in behaviour was noted" which led to a particular surveillance of Nordahl Lelandais "to prevent any act against himself", the Prison Administration (PA) indicated.

The detainee requested to see a doctor and the latter decided to transfer him to UHSA. "His continued stay, as well as his release, depend on a medical decision," the PA stressed, recalling the existence of medical secrecy around every patient, even if he was detained.
This unit "remains a penitentiary," according to the investigating magistrates, "there are visiting rooms," the same source added.
A priori, if "no medical contraindication" does not postpone this hearing, Lelandais, indicted for the kidnapping and murder of the girl, should be extracted from the UHSA, or the prison of Saint-Quentin Fallavier, if he returned there in the meantime, to be heard in Grenoble, according to a source close to the file.

This hearing is very much awaited to understand what happened to Maëlys De Araujo that night from 26 to 27 August in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère) where she participated in a wedding party with her family, before disappearing.

"We have the +where+ and +when+, we miss the +how+ and +why+" of the death of the 8-year-old girl, whose skeleton and some effects (the dress and a sandal) were found at the place where Nordahl Lelandais led the investigators on Wednesday, according to a source close to the investigation.

This unexpected turn of events, while he had previously denied any involvement since his first indictment in early September, is linked to the discovery of a drop of Maëlys' blood in the trunk of his car, which he scrubbed meticulously the day after the wedding. "He will say what he thinks he needs to say", his lawyer Alain Jakubowicz said on Tuesday on RMC/BFMTV.

"If it is an accident as he now says, he will have to explain it, to support it in front of the judges," the lawyer continued. He intends to stay "beside the man whose truth is expected."

Nordahl Lelandais is also indicted in Chambéry for the assassination of Corporal Arthur Noyer, 23, who disappeared in April 2017.

Thank you all for the updates! I'll post my revised list.

In 2010, Nordahl Lalandais:

was in prison from .... to ... ?
was somewhere with an ankle monitor from ... to .... ?
registered the start of his dog training company in Chambéry in February
became depressed and passed a while in the psychiatric hospital in Chambéry OR was an out-patient from ... to ... ?

Rachid Rameche, disappeared in 2009 June, in Bassens (Savoie) while he was in a psychiatric institution. He might have been in the same institution as Lucie Roux, in Bassens. Request from family to investigate.

He was supposed to be in Saint-Étienne, not Chambéry, the day he vanished. Saint-Étienne is where he went to university classes. How his phone ended up in Chambéry is still a mystery. The two cities are about 150 kilometers apart.

Ahmed Hamadou, 45, disappeared in 7-8 September 2012 at Fort Tamié (Savoie).

Possible suspecc; verification under way.

Het car was found there, in a parking lot. It had been there for weeks. "In the Bonnet case, the only reason for the reopening of the investigation is the geographical proximity (a distance of about 15 kilometers) between the area of [her] ??disappearance and the places of discovery of Arthur Noyer's bones, in Montmélian, of which Nordahl Lelandais is suspected of murder." Earlier: Probably not suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation.

I am having a hard time believing that he killed so many others on that list. One or two or maybe three? I can believe.

But I can't stretch it to believe he was a massively successful serial killer of a dozen or so. I could be wrong. I guess I can't give him that much 'credit' that he could have gotten away with so many for so long.

There are 2 cases in wich there is a link with Nordahl Lelandais:

Maëlys (indicted)
Arthur Noyer (indicted)

There are 2 cases under verification in which there is a possible link with Nordahl Lelandais:

Ahmed Hamadou (knew each other from sight, AH would have needed and accepted a ride)
Adrien Fiorello (his phone pinged ar Chambéry train station, near where NL lived at the time. Not known if AF was with his phone, he had no known reason to be there.)

There are two cases with possible links where families have requested verification:

Rachid Rameche (was possibly staying in the same institution with NL, unclear if they have met or knew each other, unclear if NL was hospitalized, may have been outpatient.)
Lucie Roux (was possibly staying in the same institution with NL, unclear if they have met or knew each other, unclear if NL was hospitalized, may have been outpatient.)

In all cases where verification is under way, it is not known what happpened to the missing person, or what happened to those who were found deceased.

IMHO calling Nordahl Lelandais a possible suspect creates some confusion. The reason that he is being investigated, has everything to do with the two cases in which he has been charged, and the verification process is started to find out if he has anything to do with other unexplained disappearances in the area.

Chances are that he has nothing to do with any of them, but for many families this is an opportunity to revive the search for their missing loved one.
On a political level, the French are pushing for a special department that registers and investigates all cases of missing persons. This is long overdue in France. Highlighting these cases shows the urgency.

Hope this helps.
