"Here's what we know right now:
Police have stormed two hostage situations in France. One in Porte de Vincennes, Paris, the other in Dammartin-en-Goel.
At least six reported dead, including three hostages and three hostage-takers.
The brothers suspected of executing 12 at a French satirical magazine this week are among the dead.
A separate hostage situation in Vincennes at a kosher grocery store was directly linked to the Dammartin situation and the gunman knows one of the Charlie Hebdo suspects. At least five people were held inside that store and the terrorists threatened to kill them if police didn't let the Charlie Hebdo suspects go.
Police raided the two locations almost simultaneously.
Several hostages were seen running from the grocery store.
At least three hostages in Vincennes are confirmed dead by AP in addition to the gunman. His female accomplice is reported to be alive.
Multiple reports police officers were injured in both raids, but it is unclear how many or where.
The hostage-taker at the Paris grocery store is also believed to have killed a police officer in Paris on Thursday."

Bernard Cazeneuve, the Interior Minister, thanks professional, courageous ... security services... recognized by all their countrymen, the police of int. min, and the gendarmes, the firemen of Paris, Health Ministry personnel, and association of civil services...

we still remain very mobilized against capable terrorists...

Mobilization, vigilance for the security of the French. Threat neutralized.

No confirmation to date but it does seem there are perhaps one or more. I am truly sorry, saddened and horrified as to what has occurred in your beautiful Country. Canada stands along with you my friend.

Here is a video of the 4 explosions (breach charges?) before the breach by police, watch the car just to the left of the white sign @ 14 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er7rPjh-Ugs

Also here is the moment police breached the supermarket (different angle). Looks like they had to wait for the shutters to raise up :( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZX6Bjp--VU

Those videos are something else! It is shocking to see Paris look like a war zone.Horrific for those people trapped inside and extremely worrisome for family members of all the LE involved. imo.

So I went out again and now there are two hostages held in a store in Montpellier, South of France. Which was one of my favorite cities when I lived in France and I am sick, sick of this terror.

the other night when this was first happening I was clicking on various tweets and one of the crazies had his Twitter taken over with a "Je Suis Charlie"-it was part of an Anonymous Australia effort taking down Syrian extrememist sites. I'm not generally big on the whole anonymous thing but I gave them a big "Excellent Woek, Je Suis Charlie".

BMFTV MADE CONTACT WITH SUSPECTS DURING THIS FRIDAY

Translation:

BMFTV reports
http://www.bfmtv.com/societe/bfmtv-a-ete-en-contact-avec-les-terroristes-856576.html

BFM TV has been in contact with two terrorists during this day on Friday. They claimed responsibility for their actions. One of them reported a synchronization between their actions.

BFMTV followed live on Friday the two simultaneous taking of hostages in Seine-et-Marne and Paris.

One of the killers of Charlie Hebdo, Cherif Kouachi, who was in contact with BFMTV Friday morning, confirmed during the morning having been commissioned by "Al Qaeda in Yemen" and been trained by Imam Anwar Al Awaki. "We are defenders of the prophet," he said. It was while trying to join witnesses at the printing company that our reporter was in contact with the very man who is considered the leader of the attack against Charlie.

Amedy Coulibaly, the terrorist at la Porte de Vincennes, did contact himself BFMTV at 15hrs during the hostage taking. He said he wanted to get in touch with the police.

The hostage taker at the kosher grocery testified that he "synchronized" with the Charlie killers: "For them Charlie Hebdo, myself the police officers," Coulibaly Amedy said. He for one confirmed to belong to the Islamic State.

I read somewhere that (per BFMTV) the terrorist did not hang up the phone correctly after talking to the police and they were able to listen in to what was going on. Now I can't find it.
