I keep thinking about those attacks on the Christmas markets in France, with the attackers shouting Allahu Akbar. Not much notice was taken and one was just dismissed as a disturbed individual, but they made me really uneasy.

I'm worried. It's as though war's been brought to the streets of Europe once again, and that's a horrifying prospect to start the New Year. :(

Good !
And for anyone else who helped to train them or aided them in any way... Hope they arrest them ,as well.

I've thought before that torture was wrong ; but in this case--maybe a little sleep deprivation and some water in the face might not hurt if it helps to find groups that are operating in France and other countries ?
Sorry if this is too offensive to anybody.

I feel like we are at WAR and have been for some time. Wake up, freedom-loving people ! Everyone has the right to believe as they wish, but no one has the right to harm or murder other people who disagree.

What is with a belief that causes slaughter like this ? And BTW, DailyMail and some other news sites, this was not "execution", this was murder. These people who died today were innocent.

As soon as these murderers killed they represented nothing.

They are not Muslim, Catholic, black, white, French, Syrian.

Their humanity card was pulled. They should only be referred to as murderers.

It's time we stop slandering entire peaceful populations and just refer to them as murderers.

MOO

It's striking really close to home. I loved traveling with my (sadly recently deceased) dog through France; he thought it was sniff heaven and police officers there were so nice to him, despite his eccentricities. I'm just heartbroken on France's behalf.

We have to face the reality of this threat in general IMO. I feel like we've been too lax, and we should have the balls to remove citizenship from people who have shown themselves to be extremists, and boot them the hell out of our countries and send them back to where they came from.

How the heck did authorities manage to identify them so quick? Anyone?

Religious conflict? Fine. The two sides most likely deserve each other. A strike against freedom of the press though? Hell to pay.

CNN saying NOT arrested :(

K-now CNN saying the Deputy Mayor called back when they lost feed during the Interview. Stated he clarified they know who the 3 are but they have not been arrested yet.

There is a big debate - I think (but don't quote me) going on in Belgium? about this subject. Young people leaving for Jihad in Syria etc are having their citizenships removed, so when they change their minds, they can't return to Europe. Their families and various organizations are activating for this rule to be removed, because they say it leaves their runaway kids with nowhere to turn but terrorism. An increasing number of very young teenage girls are being recruited, to be 'company' for the fighters...:(

That once grand but now horrid net has recently been called "the human centipede of journalism."

Yes, it is happening here too, but there is less debate about letting them back, some earlier 'fighters' were let back, as the law came into effect after it began, so that is a concern.
