Frank Bredt, murder of Elisabeth Bell

Hey! Looking for people that are familiar with this case because it's really bugging me! I want to hear your thoughts and theories. My opinion is that I just don't think Frank did this, it doesn't feel right, the family comes off as shady to me. I've found conflicting articles stating that gasoline was used, but the detective only focused on lighter fluid found in the kitchen (to my knowledge)..and there was mention of an accelerant used, but the type wasn't specified. Also I don't understand how Frank was tried and convicted when he wasn't even present, he was in the hospital..this case is troubling.

Says he was knocked out, woke up on fire. Mother stated he had "dent" on back of head, why not mentioned in court? . Awful defense? Stated he flee scene, 90% of body burnt!! Possible concussion.... Pain, state of mind, last known as Frank states...knocked out, wake up on fire in home, worried about child...and her brother puts him "out" in kitchen with dish water....hmmm
