Free web version of Photoshop launches

I've made custom kits that I've shared. My scrapbooking is basically for myself, but I've done a bunch of custom work for friends and family.

I'm hoping this link works, but worst possible case you can search by username (golfmom) for me there ... http://www.scrapartist.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2570

Hopefully, that should give you an idea of the kind of stuff I do. You might want to look through the gallery in general. It's always fun to look at other people's work for inspiration.

Anyway, I started years ago with Microsoft Picture It! and eventually grew out of it and moved over to Photoshop. Photoshop is NOT for the faint of heart though, there's a big learning curve. I ended up needing to take an online class to get me going in the right direction.

Oh my GM, I only got as far as page 2 and can see how talented you are!!!! I am SO jealous!

:blushing: Thank you so much. I really enjoy working on photos. Some people knit, do puzzles, paint, etc etc ... I play with Photoshop.

http://scrapbook-bytes.com/ has tons of tutorials and a great freebie section if you sign up for their free members. A paid membership which is really inexpensive gives you tons more downloads.

http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp has MY absolute favorite free downloads on the internet. They are stunning!

Thanks for the link...I HAVE downloaded LOTS of stuff from there...but again let me say your work is over-the-top!
You should feel SO proud!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks! :D Be sure to let me know how GIMP goes. It looks like there's lots of tutorials for it out on the web. I'm really curious how the program works, it appears to have quite a bit of power to it.

If ya get stuck or need something ... holler ... :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Again, it's not a software you download, but an online service that you join. Sounds like they're gonna work something out about the terms of service since it's causing a big uproar.

WR, it looks too like the freebie Photoshop features are severely limited. If I didn't already have CS3, I'd go for GIMP.

uh-oh!
Well, I am known for leaping first, look later.
Luckily I've got people like you (and this site) to fore-warn me.
But seriously GM, you are extremely talented...Do you mind if I steal some "ideas" from you? If you do PLZ say so...I will NOT be offended...I just have trouble coming up with "ideas" of my own!
I am a talented (at least I think) scrapbooker...but not when it comes to layouts and such.

Oh no White Rain, it's common practice to scraplift. Generally, folks just acknowledge where they got their inspiration from if they post online. Really, it's quite an honor when someone draws inspiration from something you've done.
:blowkiss: And, I'd be honored!

Oh yeah, I'd NEVER take anyone's ideas on my own w/o acknowledgeing (sp)... Never!
I need all the ideas I can get...my scrap pages seem to all have the same layout unfortunately. So I am CONSTANTLY on the lookout for new ideas!
I have a few scrap idea magazines but they are SO exspensive! Shoot, I'm a poor girl, I'm all about the cheap/free stuff!

Hi . This sounds interesting, but ( this will probably seem really stupid) what is a scrapbooker?

Someone who scrapbooks. Do you know what a scrapbook is?
Not asking this rudely...please don't think that!
If you don't know check out this link and you will get the idea!
It's a way out archiving your pictures along with ribbon, stickers, journaling, paper, etc...to kind of tell a story about the pictures featured. It's a GREAT idea to preserve memories!

Look at some of these scrap pages...they are awesome! Wish I was so talented.

A few of us have posted pics of our scrapbook pages on this site...I just searched for the link but couldn't find...if anyone can help please give Montana the link.

Ya know, I'm not the greatest at layouts, but spend most of my time altering photos ... so I found a quick and easy cheat. Look for freebie templates. That way after you finish your photo ... you can just drop and drag it into someone else's template. Blogs are a great place to search for them. Digifree is a search engine that pulls a lot of them together.

Thanks for the tip! I scraplift layouts but never thought of searching for templates.

I'm normally just a lurker, but I wanted to say that your digisrcapping is awesome golfmom! I also have CS3 but I know some people that use GIMP and they really like it.

I adore PS! We have it here at the house S is much much better at it than I unfortunately. We got a good deal using the student price. Haven't checked out the free service yet, and not sure if I'd really have a use, anyone that's checked it out, how does it compare to the regular versions?
