Both men were the epitome of "good trouble" -- Lewis' favorite saying and approach to confronting injustices without violence. They worked alongside the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in the forefront of the historic struggle for racial justices in the 1960s.

I recently watched the movie "Selma" about MLK, John Lewis and so many others putting their lives on the line. If you ever get a chance, watch the PBS documentary "Eyes On the Prize". The real-life video footage from those days of protest, Freedom Riders, etc. is horrifying to watch.
