(WJCL)- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is one step closer to identifying human remains found last December at a junkyard in Metter.
Investigators on Monday say they've figured out the bones belong to a black male and white female. Now the investigation moves forward in figuring out who they were. GBI Special Agent In Charge John Durden says they believe the three unidentified bodies in this case came from a nursing home, and ended at Hodges Funeral Home in Metter. They have remained a mystery for Durden since December, and now two new clues.
"The anthropologist told us that one's a white female and one's a black male," said Durden.
They're two of three bodies still unclaimed after nearly 30 years.
"We believe these bodies came from a nursing home, maybe next door," said Durden, referencing a nursing home that was next to Hodgens Funeral Home.
Percy Hodges is charged in the case and accused of discarding bodies, after the shed they were in all those years was taken to a Metter junky ard in December. Durden outlined his theory.
