'Kind-Hearted' Bus Driver Who Overcame 'All Types of Adversity' Is Fatally Shot Over $2.50 Fare

Leroy Ramos was working his regular bus loop for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) on Jan. 3 when the three juveniles got in an argument with him at Decatur Station, say police.

Cell phone video recorded by a witness showed Ramos getting into an argument with three teenagers who refused to pay the bus fare.

One teen threatened to spit on Ramos, while another MARTA employee is seen holding Ramos back before the teen in a red hoodie pulled out a gun and shot Ramos several times.

Footage obtained by WSB-TV shows the dispute between Ramos and the teenagers. At one point, several gunshots could be heard in the background.
It was a dispute over a $2.50 bus fare. Now a bus driver is dead and 3 teens are charged.
