Good article - but doesn't say when McWeay next hearing is. It does say trial in June - but no date {of course].
\edited to add - it does link to another old article 1/24/24 - when his last hearing was.

1/22/24 Update: Order approving request to use a recording device pursuant to Rule 22 on recording of judicial proceedings. Next Bond hearing on 1/23/24 @ 9:30am presiding judge Kevin M. Farmer. 1/23/24 Update: Bond hearing held. Judge Kevin M. Farmer presiding.
1/23/24 Update: McWeay will remain in jail before trial. McWeay asked to be released on bond Tuesday, but a Fulton County Superior Court judge wasted no time turning him down. The hearing was over within 11 minutes. "I think he's a danger to reoffend and a danger to the community, based on his criminal history," Judge Kevin Farmer said. "And also a threat to intimidate witnesses." McWeay’s refusal to cooperate with authorities was used as an argument to keep him incarcerated Tuesday. At one point, Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Lauren McAuley listed all the times McWeay dodged DFCS workers, including after the alleged kidnapping on July 6, 2023.
1/24/24 update: Pre-indictment Order for bond. Pre-indictment petition/motion for bond. To set reasonable bond. Both filed by defense.
1/24/24 Update: In a grim tale of neglect and failure that has rocked Atlanta, Rodney McWeay, a father accused of letting his 4-year-old daughter starve to death, has been denied bond. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kevin Farmer cited McWeay's potential "danger to reoffend" & threat to witnesses as reasons for the denial.
6/17/24 Update: Charged by Fulton County Sheriff's Dept. with aggravated assault, possession of dangerous weapon or drugs by inmate & riot in Penal Institution. Case #s EW-0442451, 52, & 53.
8/13/24 Update on above charge: McWeay suffered stab wounds inside the Fulton County jail, after allegedly trying to rob another inmate who fought back, according to sheriff’s office records. The incident happened at the Rice Street facility, in cell 108, on May 17, 2024. A deputy reported being flagged down by several inmates, then finding McWeay bleeding heavily, with a deep gash running from his cheek to his neck, a severe shoulder wound & two puncture wounds to his back. McWeay was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. He now faces additional charges of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon & rioting in a penal institution. While the new criminal charges from the attempted jail robbery don't impact McWeay's murder case directly, attorney Schiffer said they could be used as leverage in a plea deal.
6/10/25 Update: Trial set to begin on 6/10/25 with jury selection.
6/10/25 Monday, Jury Selection Day 1: Jury has been selected & sworn in. Trial begins on Wednesday, 6/11/25.

Should have told the police he was dealing drugs from that location. They would have busted in with the swat team. Starving children, not that important I guess.

It doesn't play for me... just see nice colors! LOL! :)

Anything interesting?
I was able to watch an officer (who was in training at the time) who visited the home during one of the well checks Testify. But then they went to lunch break and I couldn't watch anymore. By the time I got back the livestream had the color bars.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Testimony resumed on Thursday in the murder trial of Rodney McWeay, the Atlanta man accused of starving his 4-year-old daughter, Treasure, to death in December 2023.
What they're saying:
Among those who took the stand was McWeay’s aunt, Dawn Kamara, a prosecution witness who told jurors her nephew struggled with parenting and job stability after moving to Atlanta.
[.....]
Prosecutors allege McWeay killed his daughter in a home filled with abuse and neglect. Atlanta Police Officer Michael Gaither testified about a call he responded to at the family’s home, where children had reportedly been left alone. When he arrived, he found the children’s mother locked outside trying to get in.
[.....]
James Williams, a Fulton County DFCS case manager, testified about failed efforts to intervene after concerns surfaced about alleged abuse — including beatings of the children’s mother.
[.....]
McWeay remains jailed without bond. Prosecutors say he faces up to four life sentences plus 112 years if convicted.

records of Rodney Jr. Several dates reflected there. 4/30/21 records indicated Jr. was just slightly below the average for his height and weight.

On his 11/1/2021 visit Jr.'s height and weight still appears to be within the average range. He is slightly below average on height but within "normal" range. As far as Developmental milestones he was considered delayed. Not talking yet or saying words.

On 2/5/2022 there was a ER visit with his mother (just after his removal from father's custody) He is now measuring as only in the 17th percentile for weight. He has not been gaining weight at the expected rate since his last visit.

One 12/14/2023 Jr. was hospitalized suffering from dehydration, child neglect/abandonment, suspected physical abuse, failure to thrive, lack of development, delayed speech, less than teh 5th percentile in weight (BMI). Bruises are noted on his buttocks and back. his speech is not understandable, babbles like a younger child/baby.

He was given IV fluids and responded well to it. He ate a lot on admission and vomited immediately after eating his first few meals. eventually the vomiting resolved. The vomiting was secondary to his voracious appetite. It is common for undernourished children to be unable to handle all that nourishment at once and can result in proper nourishment creating nausea.

After suspicions of child abuse he was x-rayed. subsequent x-rays showed no broken bones.
