911 calls reveal details about suspected gunman in CDC attack
The suspect's father told police his son left him what appeared to be a suicide note.
I don't think its a silly comparison at all. I think its an excellent analogy.I think the negative, scary ruminations of misinformation are, in a strange way, comforting to some.
Forgive this analogy, but it suddenly reminds me of cotton candy - how vendors at fairs swirl around the paper cone in the circular machine and the cotton candy builds up until it's a big fluffy mass. That amassed swirl of cotton candy is like misinformation spiraling in the brain. The pink candy might be tempting, but it's full of nothing and isn't real food.
(I know that's a silly comparison.)

In my personal experience those who absorb this misinformation seem to be bolstered by it; it makes them feel special. included. Its like a weird kind of high. They laugh and roll their eyes, stomp their feet, shake their heads at anyone who disagrees or even offers a more thoughtful, careful, gently spoken alternate view or opinion. Who wants to make this kind of person upset? Not me! My daughter says they are brainwashed and it scares them and makes them feel uncomfortable and angry when someone confronts them with truth and facts.
This is very disturbing and needs to change:![]()

I didn't read it that way. FWIW, I read it as ATF as an organization provides that information to LE, not to public inquiries, including from reporters. This is very disturbing and needs to change:
“It also remained unclear who owned the guns used in the attack. An ATF spokesperson said federal law prevented the agency from releasing crime gun trace information to the public, only to the requesting law enforcement agency. ATF also does not maintain a registry of gun owners.”
So ATF thinks they can cover up information about who was legally responsible for giving military grade automatic weapons to this evil paranoid maniac.
I recall complaints about the federal response to the train derailment. Not sure why Kennedy should show up after a mentally ill person shots up cdc building within hours.
Where were the complains when it took 3 weeks for Buttigieg to show up in east palestine after train derailment.

I recall complaints about the federal response to the train derailment.
But to go into that would derail this thread and distract from the topic that a man who believed misinformation about the vaccine and who then shot at an agency that falls under the leadership of RFK, Jr.

White, broke into his father’s gun safe to retrieve five firearms that were brought to the shooting, according to Hosey.
I'm sure the parents are devastated and I feel for them during this horrible time. My comment is not directed at them as they don't need my comments.Quote snipped by me
Well,
If one can easily break into it
Then it surely isn't a "safe"
