Also note:

Malice Murder is Premeditated. Felony murder is when a person is killed in the commission or Escape of a Felony. Both have the same Penalty of life in Prison.

Wonder what kind of "incident" put roommates on no speaking terms and kept this young lady out of her own bedroom?
...just now joining this thread, so please excuse if these comments seem "late"...

Some boyfriend thing?? Suspicion? Jealousy?

She apparently does not have a car. I cannot see her leaving the apartment on foot that late at night. Yet her phone student ID and debit card were found in the apartment. They need to look for debit card usage.
bbm
Now who is gonna go out to a store without any one of those items?? If she truly went to a liquor store, IMO she would need her ID for age-checking and her debit card for purchasing a bottle of liquor, etc. And she would need them again for just about anything.
Doesn't sound quite right. Of course. These situations quite often never do.

Alexis's roommate's b.f. apparently sexually assaulted her and she filed a police report.
Understandably, Alexis and her roommate were not on speaking terms when she disappeared.
The bf and roommate are now accused of murdering Alexis after the roommate finally led police to Alexis' body, which was located in a park. imo.

I agree - I am sure LE can easily verify or poke holes in the ride to the liquor store story. If there are doubts, it does not seem like we will be privvy to that information. If we remove the roommate's confirmation of her whereabouts, is the last verifiable contact on 10/30 at 3:23PM with facetime? The 8:44 PM text and 2 instagram posts are not hard proof (to me anyhow).
bbm
Exactly -- IMO the liquor store would have cameras everywhere -- inside and out. Easy to prove or disprove, as you said. If this was a make-it-up quickly utterance, it will backfire just as quickly.

You will get a permanent busy signal on an iPhone if you turn on ‘do not disturb’ which is the crescent moon in the image attached
Well, how 'bout that?! I have never even noticed the half-moon. Thanks, @Angleterre, for that info.
Hmmm, I wonder who enabled that signal on that phone... IMO, it would alarm people since you can also just let the phone take messages, which is what we see (hear) so often. You can always turn down the volume while you sleep or whatever.
A busy signal -- Do Not Disturb -- is that good or bad? Was she trying to ask for help?

I’m going with an Idiot Male & Idiot Female got drunk, high or both, devised a plan only a bonafide Idiot would think could work, to commit murder, in retaliation for reporting a sexual assault. May they both rot.

Blessings & peace to Alexis's Family.

Boyfriend has a long criminal record. Past criminal charges include battery, family violence, cruelty to children, simple battery, theft, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, robbery. Why she ever hooked up with this creep in the first place? IMO

Oh, so sad, but few of us were surprised, I imagine, since we have seen it, and seen it, and seen it, so many times before.
In all the pics posted of Alexis, her big, pretty smile just makes me smile, too. Such a young, happy face, looking full of hopes and dreams. Thinking of her large and loving family -- I am glad they all have each other. Also glad LE has POIs.
What were they thinking?? Grrrrr.

Just what I was thinking. So many POI's or suspects or whatevers, think they are smarter that LE. Well, it doesn't appear that way this time, and we all know that LE has seen just about everything, and it's difficult to fool LE very often. I hope they have them locked-up-tight tonight and that LE will pile up even more evidence to add to what they already have.
Rock solid all the way, let's hope. Grrrr.

Roommate JJ will go before judge on Monday. Roommate boyfriend BB remains in jail. One of the two arrested lead police to Alexis' body.
There will be a vigil tonight for Alexis at 6 pm.

Prayers to Alexis' family, truly a horrific tragedy.

Did these two think if they killed her the charges would go away?

Right? Seriously, these two must have never heard of DNA...... <insert eye roll>

WTH
You would think that if one's bf. committed a sexual assault on your roommate, that you would get really jealous and mad at him and break it off, not help the jerk!
imo.
I’m guessing the BF lied and convinced his girlfriend that Alexis was at fault.

Ohhhh. Ugh. Maybe he lied threatened and frightened the roommate into helping him? Still no excuse, of course, but I am always trying to comprehend “killer couples,” where one seemingly goes along with the other. I’m similarly baffled by the woman who helped the killer in the Kelsey Berreth case.

JJ was charged with Malice Murder...which requires premeditation. BB was charged with Felony Murder and bond was denied for him.

Monsters such as these are never, ever as smart as they think they are. Not even.

Atlanta student found dead had filed a police report on unwanted touching days before she vanished, authorities say
rbbm.
"Brantley was booked into the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on Friday and is accused of murder along with three probation violations and “hindering person making emergency telephone call,” according to information from the Fulton County Jail."

"Her family is devastated, said Rev. Markel Hutchins, who is advising the Crawfords. He described her as the “apple of their eye.”

Hutchins spoke with her parents after hearing about her death and says they are grieving.

“Alexis’ mother was literally unable to speak. All that she could do was listen as I tried to console and comfort her,” Hutchins said. “Alexis’ father said, ‘If they wanted to take somebody’s life they could have taken mine. They didn’t have to kill my baby, they didn’t have to kill her.’ ”

In the heartbreak, the family is thankful for the support from the local community as well as from people all over the country, he said.

Shields extended her condolences to the family and says she wishes things turned out differently".

ALEXIS CRAWFORD: Here's everything to know about the Alexis Crawford murder

Crawford considered one of her alleged killers as her best friend, a family spokesman said Sunday, and had invited the woman to spend holidays with her family.

Alexis Crawford’s family hosted Jordyn Jones for both Easter and Thanksgiving, said the Rev. Markel Hutchins during an interview Sunday on behalf of the victim’s family. Crawford and Jones were roommates in an apartment near the Clark Atlanta campus.

“That makes that tragedy all the more difficult to understand and reconcile,” Hutchins said. “She spent time with the family, in the family home.”

“They knew Jordyn, they liked Jordyn. There was never a reason to suspect that Jordyn would do anything wrong or ill to Alexis,” Hutchins said. “One family member described them as two peas in a pod. … To go from that to where we are today, it’s unthinkable, unspeakable.”

The women had been friends since their freshman year of college.
