The unpaved stretch of Pennick Road is approximately 4.8-4.9 miles, it looks like. The northern end of the unpaved part of Pennick Road terminates into Altamaha Park Road. That road terminates at Altamaha Regional Park, which has a boat ramp, camping, etc.on the Altamaha River. The park is 18 miles away from the Harley-Davidson dealership, about a half hour on main roads.

That would be too far for a normal lunch break, since she doesn't return late from lunch, according to her manager. Not likely she'd have gone that far during lunch on her own.

I'm just researching based on the limited info in the articles, MO and please don't read too much into it. Just wanted to gather more info on Pennick Road.

Don't know if this helps since I'm not from the area and not familiar with the surroundings, but there is video footage of her leaving the parking lot and then turning right.

Since they have someone in custody, I hope the family reconsiders their searches.
Unless they have a specific area in mind, and even then, it would be most likely a
search for a body at this point, and the people closest to her may not be emotionally
equipped to deal with finding her themselves.

I hope they wait until phone pings are traced and let others do the searches from them.
I know they want to help, but this is probably going to be a case where cadaver dogs might be called in and they should be left to professionals who can build a case that will stick.

So sad for this family and especially her children.

Police say the Person they have in custody is no longer a POI but is being held on unrelated charges. Not sure if police really think that or if they are just saying he is no longer a POI. It's my opinion that he could still be a POI but they want whoever he talked to on the phone to come forward. That is JMO though.

When it comes to guys that have sleeved out tattooes, it's really not that unusual these days. My daughter is 25 and her best friend his her male cousin who was born 2 days before her. He is sleeved out like that, and my other daughter is 22. Her boyfriend of 3 years is now sleeved out as well.

Well then. Whoever was in her car left trace evidence. He doesn't seem like that worried him too much though. He left keys and walked/ran away.
He must have been in that car on previous occasions.
Family is saying no one they know matches that description.

The guy is still in custody though on the unrelated, just not being "called" a POI?

Yes, that is my understanding.

Her friends are now posting on their pages that she has been found. Also read on the Find Amber Whited page that crime scene tape and news crews are in an area. I know more but that is all I can say at this time since it can be found on public pages. As soon as I can find a real link, I will post.

Yes, there are a lot of the kind of backroads I was talking about off of Hwy.32.

Close to 82 and Brantley sounds like Bladen Rd. area.

Is that what you heard? How did you hear Mobey?

Such sad news. A lot of people have gone crazy in this country.
They behave like animals.

My sympathies to her poor mother and children most of all.
And everyone who loved her.

:(

http://www.actionnewsjax.com/conten...-search-for-Amber/Mz0v5yMF5UWrB-Ax5nIUiA.cspx

Action News has learned from law enforcement and friends of Amber Whited that a body has been found in Brunswick near highway 99 and Chris Road.

Glynn County police cannot confirm whether the body is that of Whited. Friends close to Whited tell Action News the body found may be a woman.

Note: after this article was posted, other media reported (and the Glynn County Police dept subsequently confirmed) the location was not near Hwy 99 and Chris Rd but near Hwy 99 and Bladen Road)

Well, that's a whole different area of Hwy. 99. That's right near the turn off to the road she lived on! 99 runs a long way. So the Bladen Rd. near Brantley Co. is way off.

I would have thought that area would have been searched days ago.
They have most likely been asked to not give the exact location just yet! I literally just got off the phone with my worker and he said the Bladen Rd. location is correct.

Yep. I went to Glynn County Police fb and yes, the Bladen Rd. was correct.
Darn the media.
It says she was found 50 feet off the roadway into the woods there.

I know that 99 also runs by Chris Rd. but why did they say that intersection
just because it's close to where she lived.

Glynn County Police dept press release:

http://police.glynncounty-ga.org/fo...7-21_155230_Body_Located_Bladen_Rd_and_99.pdf
At 1:40 p.m. Glynn County Police Criminal Investigators located the body of a deceased female in a wooded area off of Bladen Road at Highway 99. The body was located approximately fifty feet off of the roadway in a heavily wooded area. The body is tentatively identified as that of Amber Whited, age 22, who was reported missing on July 16th. The body will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab for an autopsy and positive identification.

If anyone saw Amber Whiteds’ white Honda Accord on Tuesday in Glynn or Brantley County, please contact Inv. Marc Neu at 912-554-7816 or Inv. Resden Talbert at 912-554-7813.

Brantley County is west of Glynn County/Bruswick. Googlemaps reflects that Bladen Road terminates on the west at Post Road, which appears to be at the Glynn County / Brantley County county lines.

I hope they find who did this. My heart goes out to her family. This is just so sad.
