Richmond County sheriff’s office still searching for missing Augusta man

Richmond County authorities are continuing the search for a missing Augusta man.

Investigators are looking for 28-year-old Andrew Ramey Cato IV, who was last seen and heard from on Saturday.

He reportedly left his home, located at 1804 Dixon Road, at 12:30 p.m. to go to work at International Paper on Mike Padgett Highway, a police report states.

His father, Andrew Ramey Cato III, said his son left the job between 11 and 11:30 p.m. but has not returned home or called — something he has never done, according to the report.

Cato IV was last seen driving a 2011 grey Ford Focus, bearing Georgia tag NK6925. He is white, 5-foot-7 with black hair and brown eyes.

Yesterday, friends were searching for Cato by the woods near the Brickyard Pond shop off Doug Barnard Parkway. They say his cell phone signal last pinged near this area, have already spent time searching other areas here and near Phinizy Swamp.

His mom said he was supposed to meet with his sister to run an errand and hang out with his boss for a cookout this past Sunday.

Today, they'll have a group back out there and a larger group search on Saturday.

Car found

A big break in the case Thursday after investigators found the missing car belonging to his sister. She got the chance to see it last night with new clues they're using to try and pinpoint where Andrew could be.

"They found fishing line tangled up, they found red dirt, red clay. That car, I know, was spotless because my son and myself went and detailed it for my daughter. There's no place that he needed to be that would have that kind of dirt," said Cibeck.

Reward offered for information leading to missing Augusta man

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - The family of a man who's been missing for nearly two weeks is offering a reward for any information that will lead to his return home.

Drew Cato's family is offering a $3,100 reward in the case.

Cato has not been seen since leaving work May 5th.

On Wednesday, friends and family held a vigil for him on his birthday.

They requested that no one bring candles, balloons or flowers because they say there's nothing to celebrate until their son returns home.

If you know anything at all about this case, call the Richmond County Sheriff's office.

I'm trying to figure out where the car was found from where it was at his work but I can't find that.

The area they are looking is near the airport. Augusta Regional Airport. Best airport in the world.

This is where I am from and live a few miles away.

My father worked at International Paper back when it was Continental Can Co. for 25 years.

I went to school with the Cato's. This is so sad, I pray he is found alive and well.

WFXG : Missing man's ex, childhood friend charged in his murder

RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - The mugshots of two people charged in connection with the death of a missing Richmond County have been made available. Andrew Cato IV was reported missing May 5th, 2018.

Blaeke Wolfe, the 23-year-old mother of his son, Hayden, and 23-year-old Devin Stringfield are both charged with murder.

Stringfield faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. William McCarty said authorities are still searching for Cato's remains.

Wolfe and Stringfield were being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center as of Friday.

Curtis Cato, Andrew's brother, told WFXG there may have been tension between Andrew and Blaeke due to a custody issue. At this time, Cato's father, Andrew Cato III has custody of Hayden.

Family: Andrew Cato's body found in McCormick County
MCCORMICK COUNTY, SC (WFXG) -

Investigators have found the body of a man that may be Andrew Cato, IV, who has been missing from Augusta for nearly one month.

On Sunday, May 27, investigators received information that the remains of Andrew Cato, IV may be located in McCormick County. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office, working with the McCormick County Sheriff's Office and SLED, responded to a wooded area where they recovered human remains.

Cato's family tells FOX 54 that the body found in McCormick County is Andrew Cato, IV. However, law enforcement officials cannot confirm this until proper identification can be done. The body will sent to the South Carolina crime lab for identification.

RIP Drew.

Family of Cato has already told News 12 they believe it was him, but this is the first confirmation from officials.

Cato has been missing since May 6th. His ex-girlfriend and a friend of hers have been arrested and charged with his murder.
