GA GA - Annette Campbell Dodd, 26, Summerville, 19 April 1986

I don't think the Charley Project would turn Annette's family away, it's privately run and not affiliated with any government agency. As long as there is a picture of the missing person and they've been missing for a year, she will add it. I will reach out to the site owner, most of us are familiar with her.

ETA: We would never turn them away, either. We welcome family!!

I know I just couldn’t understand why they would think that.

I'm up since 5 been working on Annette saving pics and trying to write stats etc. I have to make sure LE's number is correct but I think there's enough to start a NamUs profile, after I do that I will contact her page to have her family contact the rep to give any missing info. It's easiest that way, especially since they don't think she qualifies.

She's pretty much entered in NamUs. Tomorrow I'll look at the page better to see who's there. Looks like sisters and daughter. Have to also see if there's an address she was last seen at

I sent her page a PM to let them know I entered her and that I want to put them in touch with her case worker. Also asked if they have an MP report so we'll see.

Family Seeks Answers To Woman's Mysterious Disappearance In 1986

The story of Annette Dodd's disappearance is a tangled and complicated one, filled with tragic and surreal speculations and responses.

Mrs. Dodd vanished almost 10 years ago. She is presumed dead. Authorities suspected foul play and never found a body.

Officers had one suspect for the alleged crime and there was enough evidence to indict the man on murder charges, according to Larry Kellett, a local private investigator. The suspect wasn't arrested because the body of the 26-year-old Trion woman couldn't be found, he said.

Mildred[?] Annette Campbell Dodd was reported missing by her siter on April 20, 1986. Carol Reynolds, Trion told police that her sister was last seen at about 1 a.m. the day before.

According to the report, Mrs. Dodd's husband, Glenn, told police that he and his wife went to the Chattooga County Memorial House that Saturday night and got home about 1 a.m. He said that his wife was gone when he awoke the next morning.

LEAVE

Dodd said that his wife had told a friend of hers that she was going to leave some day. The couple has been married two months and five days, according to Eulene Timmons, Mrs. Todd's mother.

Two years ago, a three-year-old girl who is distantly related to woman was said to talk to the woman from beyond the grave. The child was not alive when Mrs. Dodd disappeared and knew nothing about the woman. Police have questioned the girl extensively about the case and searched for the body in the area northeast of Trion known as Corpsewood.

CORPSEWOOD

The investigation told police that the body was located in a [**rest of line illegible, looks maybe like "vat, said police and had an officer" or "wet, cold place and had an officer] in Corpsewood, he continued. Corpsewood Manor. The scene of a bizarre double-murder in 1983 [**illegible, looks like "occurred there six years before the child was born".]

"Everything the girl said points to the old [**illegible] at Corpsewood," said Kellett, adding that officers would not propose digging it out because it's on privately-owned property. Local authorities have neither asked the owner for permission to dig out the [illegible] or tried to get a court order to do so.

According to Mrs. Timmons, the family [**illegible] the toddler when the child started talking about Annette. She said no one had mentioned the woman to the child.

The girl said "A man hurt Annette, and Annette is in the water where there was a pink house." The girl also reportedly picked out a picture of the man from several photos, saying he was the man who hurt Mrs. Dodd. Later, the girl identified the house on Elm Street where Mrs. Dodd last lived, which had been painted another color.

PSYCHIC

In the family's investigation to find out what happened to the 5'9', 125-pound brunette, Mrs. Timmons consulted a pyschic in [**illegible].

According to a letter[?] [**illegible] the physic obtained by The Summerville News, four psychics [**illegible] is the whereabouts of the body.

"It is fact[?] that the body is approximately two[?] miles west of Trion off a paved road. This newly-paved road relates to a parkway or possibly a a summer[?] retreat, possibly a wildlife preservation. We land the body is about 50 to 70 yards off the roadway. The road rests to the right and is surrounded by tall trees at the [illegible..."back and bend"?] and marsh on the right side. There is neatly trimmed, and grass distinctly across the road [**illegible..."bend?"] where she is located.

"We find that the place is near the mountain area." One pyschic said it is in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

A third psychic [**illegible] added that the body is in a sinkhole that is [**illegible..."deep"?], wet and cold, and that he felt that the body is rapidly deteriorating.

A fourth psychic aggreed with all of the others but said that there were still [**illegible] remaining to be found on the back porch of Mrs. Dodd's house.

"All four agreed about the identity of the alleged murder.

EVIDENCE

Although psychic revelations are not considered evidence in murder cases they often give police clues as where to search for bodies. But, according to Kellett, key evidence in the Dodd case has not been pursued.

Blood found on the handle of a shovel at the Dodd home was not analyzed nor was blood on a boot. Fresh dirt was also found on the shovel.

A witness who was not close to the case told police that she heard a car leave the Dodd home and return Sunday morning. The same person said she later saw a man washing out a car with a water hose near the house.

Police reportedly found a bloody handprint on the vinyl top of the car and blood on the seat of the car. According to an article in The Summerville News, the blood was analyzed and deemed human,

Then sheriff Gary McConnell said it was assumed to be the blood of Mrs. Dodd.

Mrs. Dodd's car was at the home after she disappeared, as well as her wallet, which her mother now has.

"She always kept her billfold in her purse." "The purse wasn't there, but police found her billfold and gave it to me," she said, holding out the billfold for inspection. Mrs. Dodd's social security card and various receipts were inside but there was no driver's license.

A RUMOR?

Also, after the information came out about the possible Corpsewood link, Kellet said someone claimed to have seen and talked to a man who was leaving the area of Corpsewood that Sunday morning. The man supposedly said that he had just buried his dog.

Kellet said that information could be nothing more than a rumor, and Mrs. Timmons said she had heard the same thing.

And there are more rumors and theories. Meanwhile, Mrs. Dodd's parents, three sisters and brother, and her daughter await news about a solution to the mystery.

Mrs. Dodd's daughter, who was eight when her mother disappeared, is now 18 and plans to be married this year. Since her mother's disappearance, she has resided with one of Annette's sisters. Glenn Dodd has since remarried.

Also, transcriptions of the two In Memoriam articles (written 1991) also on the Facebook Page:
"MY AUNT"

She wasn't perfect--in fact far from it.

But she was close enough for me and that's what matters

The last time I saw her face was five years ago.

To this date only God knows where she's at today.

If I ever do see her loving face again,

I would just want to say I love you, my Aunt, each and every day.

With love from nieces and nephews

Written By:

TO MY SISTER

(Handwritten notes:

I Love you and still Love you like Always

May God Keep You and Care for you like we all did, Honey I still really miss Love your Aunt Dale)

TO MY SISTER

To my sister who is gone.
Who will never have to worry anymore about being alone.

God came and took my sister home for reasons I don't understand. Though we haven't found your body to put to rest. You know you were the best sister anyone could have.

I know I never really told you how much I really cared. And now that you are gone, I will never see your smiling face again. I will never be able to hold you and tell you how much I love you.

You have been gone for almost five years but you have been in my heart every day and night.

I wish that I could see you and tell you one more time Annette we really love you from the bottom of our hearts.

Love and miss you,

J. B. and Eulene Timmons, Kay, Eddie, Irene, Carol
Daughter, Mandy

She will be missing five years,

Link will work when her profile goes online. Carrie is on vacation till the 24th, so is Pamela Reed who's in NJ for missing in NJ. I emailed both last night for another case. Couldn't believe my luck. Not sure if I'm going to the NJ event even though it's not far from me. It's a pretty congested area due to being at a college plus I have a bad back. I don't walk much

Her sister got back to me Thursday. She's gonna see if she can get a hard copy of the MP report. Not sure if I'll bother emailing Carrie until the 26th, been a crazy week, was gonna do it so she knew why I didn't submit but it just never happened.

I believe her maiden name is Annette Timmons, Campbell is her 1st married name, she probably kept it due to her daughter having it.

Thank you so much! Been so busy, hadn't had time to post what I had typed out too. I did the flier and one article. I started attempting to type out page one but didn't get far. Really nice to know what happened. I do wonder if they still have the shovel and if they have the bloody hand print from the car. We all know technology has come a long way to test the blood.

I'll work on a narrative to get her an album on the FB page I co-own. I'll then send her sister the link so she can copy everything to their page.

This is another case I stumbled upon while looking at Ancestry family trees-- She is listed as Annette Timmons (her maiden name, perhaps?) and under death it says "Missing/Never Found.
yes it was her maiden name, her daughter is my Best Friend. It says missing never found, because they basically never did ANYTHING with the case, or the evidence they found.
